Although we have eaten at Hopleaf many times over the years, this was our visit to our son and his family for over three years, prior to the pandemic. We were so relieved that Hopleaf survived the pandemic, since it had always been one of our favorite places to eat at, when we are in the area. Since they didn’t have the duck Reuben, one of my favorite past sandwiches there, I ordered the brisket Reuben, which was delicious. I also ordered a Kwak beer, complete with wooden holder, and Hopleaf was the first place where I had sampled that beer many years ago.
We had a great experience, killing time while waiting on a show.. Taken very well care of by bartender Kyle ( whom I kept calling Keri……I apologize.) Great neighborhood bar in Andersonville! We had drinks and the chicken sandwich.
We went to Hopleaf for a quick bite to eat. We ate outside on the patio. It was a beautiful day and it is a really nice space. Our server was great and our food was good. Great selection of beers and ciders. I would definitely go back again.
Had the fried chicken sandwich and a draft cider and both were really good! The service was friendly and really quick for being moderately busy and I liked the decor in the restaurant as well. Will come back!
No table service at our front booth, but plenty of bussing to rid the table of empty glasses, which was nice. Good atmosphere, good music, lots of hustle and bustle with people coming and going. It's a beer pub, primarily, but I'm a wine drinker, and I wish there were a tempranillo among the wines offered....
Such a well decorated place! The cocktails are great as well. Good location on Clark Street. We had a good time, but we got there around 8:45 and we’re given a menu. No one told us that the kitchen closed at 9. By the time they came back and we asked to order, it was 9:02… but they offered a free drink to make up for it. I’ll be back!
The choice of craft beers were excellent but I wish the food menu was more expansive. The waitresses were very sweet and attentive. One of the bartenders at the front with the tattoos was extremely rude. He needs to go.

Have loved this place for years, from the steak frites to the enormous beer selection and everywhere in between. Michael and Louise have a great thing going!! I recently got to go for Super Stout Sunday and had many of the beer offerings, and the outstanding chili with cornbread, it’s a don’t miss event!
