Delicious food and awesome service! The oysters were fresh and juicy and the hanger steaks were so tender and tasty. We will definitely be back. Thanks for the recommendation for the whiskey ?
My wife and I don't drink alcohol and we don't eat oysters or caviar. So what we doing at Heritage Restaurant and Caviar Bar in Chicago's Ukrainian Village/Humboldt Park neighborhood? Here is a chic European restaurant that advertises that it's highlights are vodka and caviar. We were reluctant at first. But friends insisted we would enjoy ourselves just the same. And they were right on. Located at 2700 West Chicago Avenue, at Washtenaw, it is open from 4 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 on Friday, noon to 10 on Saturday and noon to 8 on Sunday. We started with the chef's choice cheese and charcuterie board featuring Braunschweiger, elk and venison summer sausage, duck liver mousse, sauerkraut, stone ground mustard, Hook's cheddar cheese, blue cheese, pickled feta, pickled ramps and marinated olives. A delicious assortment. For an entree, my wife chose Iron Skillet Halibut with lobster sauce, fried kale and cherry tomato. I couldn't resist the wood grilled BBQ baby back ribs with whipped potato and truffle and pimento creamed spinach. Don't skip dessert. We shared black forest cake with white chocolate ginger ice cream and lemon curd tart with salted triple chocolate ice cream. I've never tasted caviar but it couldn't taste any better than those desserts. Three cheers for the pastry chef.
I enjoy different but this was a bit more than I anticipated. More, yet less. The oysters were good. Only get 1 egg roll. They are humongous! Tasty though. The burger had to be returned because the “medium” was too red. The fries were thoughtlessly prepared and returned. I didn’t get a picture of dessert, as it wasn’t “photo ready” but the cookie skillet is worth ordering! A neighborhood haunt enjoyed by the neighborhood!
The food was delicious and amazing. One of the best experiences "post" COVID. Really happy with everything! We all need to go out and eat more often. Support your local good restaurants ?
RESTAURANT WEEK @heritage_chicago ? Ukrainian Village, ChicagoWe got the restaurant week menu for $55, which comes with 5 courses ! Ben booked it for 9:30pm on @exploretock , super easy to park nearby Biggest highlights were the prime rib pierogi, Korean shortrib aka "galbi" and iron skillet halibut1️⃣ course: tuna and Hamachi with tempura seaweed. The tempurad seaweed was interesting, adds an earthy taste to balance the freshness of the fish + some sort of aioli. Comes with a hot honey, and green kimchi that was a really great palette cleanser2️⃣nd course : shaved asparagus salad. You can really taste the egg jam and Hollandaise, really creamy against the vinegary shaved white asparagus. The whitefish roe is my fave. Really want to try their roe/caviar tasting for $150 next time!3️⃣rd course: prime rib pierogi and duck breast salad. Pierogi was super meaty, filled to the rim of the dumpling casing and fried till crispy. The dough wasnt too heavy and every bite can be paired with their horseradish and sour cream sauce. Duck breast salad had an Asian twist to it. There's cabbage, broccoli, spring onion,. Pickled carrot all in a kimchi vinegrette and maybe a bit of sesame oil? Loved how fresh it was, wish there was a bit more of the smoked duck breast4️⃣the main : short rib galbi and iron skillet halibut. The galbi had a fantastic bite, and the exact Korean galbi marinade I love. Almost the size of my forearm and a pretty thick cut so I had to chew quite a bit ?. It comes with this fantastic fried spring onion on top of a bone marrow flan which I didn't particularly enjoy. Overall a great dish.Halibut was awesome - super crispy skin and "fall off the bone" meat. Comes with pimento grits & a white truffle lobster sauce. If you love seafood & creaminess, you'd love this5️⃣Dessert: black forest cake and lemon curd tart. The biggest highlight of the dessert was the ice cream ?. It comes with a salted triple chocolate ice cream for the lemon tart, and a white chocolate ginger ice cream for the black forest cake. Really smooth, creamy , and great depth in flavors. Otherwise the tart and cake was slightly dryMore on @midwestmunching on Instagram
5 stars isn't even enough for what this place deserves. Guy and Tiffany are amazing people who love what they do and it shows. Their staff is very well trained, high level of attention to detail.
Super cute place. Was waiting to go to my next viewing and came here to have a drink. Menu is different but intriguing. Wish they had more on the menu that could be substituted for gluten free.
I was really nervous bringing a child, really nervous bringing myself bc I'm not "refined," but everyone was so friendly and welcoming and not pretentious at all. My husband, myself, and my four year old stopped in for our anniversary dinner during a work trip. We ordered a bunch of different small plates and every one was fun (chicharrones with roe and pimento cheese, what?!) and most important, delicious! We loved every dish. The portions and the prices are great, especially those $1 oysters and happy hour specials. Usually "fusion-ish" places always fall short but everything was so tasty and perfectly seasoned. I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this place, but we'll make a point to stop in every time we're in Chicago. It was well worth the 40+ minute train ride from Chinatown!
beautiful and eclectic menu. there were a variety of cuisines, and they were done incredibly well. I'm usually leery of menus that combine american, Mexican, eastern Europe, and east Asia (and st Patrick's Irish oh my). but everything was delicious, they didn't mind our large number of small plates, and best chicharrones ever! still crackling at the table. yeah, can't say I've ever had this level of quality and variety in food and cocktails ever. cheers. eat here. happy hour is ridiculous good deal.
Went for New Year’s Eve and had a fabulous dinner.Price fixed with perfect portion sizes and great menu.Ate downstairs and had bartenders choice. Great mix and added to the experience.
