My first time eating here and first off they didn’t serve coleslaw, like really !!! Harold’s is know for the coleslaw,it’s on the menu but you never have any????♀️??♀️!!!! The wings looked and tasted as if they were double dipped or maybe they were just fried in old grease..I spent $42 or should I say wasted $42 !!!!! I don’t mind paying but give me my money worth(bigger/fresh wings and fries!!!! It was terrible!!!!!!! Never again!!!!!!!
Good to come back home to some good ol' Harold's Chicken! Not all Harold's are created equal, but this one did not disappoint. I got the chicken and catfish combo, made to order of course. Sorry no pics. By the time I realized I should review, everything was gone. Lol Also know this is a good sized location to dine in, but I did take out.
This review is strictly for the cooks. The owner always correct situations if you call and inform him. I purchased the 24 piece bucket and my chicken was damn near dried out and tasted like burnt grease or something. If a customer is willing to pay inflated prices, the service has to match. I wanted harolds chicken, not burnt dried mild sauce wings.
THE RESTAURANT FLOOR WAS SLIPPERY IN MY OPINION, THERE WERE TWO LARGE FANS THAT WAS VERY LOUD!!! WHERE AS TO ORDER THE SALE CLERK HAD YELL OVER THE LOUD FANS AND I HAD SPEAK VERY LOUD TO PLACE AN ORDER... THE WAS VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL!!! THE FOOD WAS NOT BAD, BUT THE FIRST TIME IT WAS FRIED TO HARD!!!
This was the Worst Harold's ever. No price on the menu. No menu to take out.I ordered a 4 piece mix and small liver. The liver was over cooked almost burned. The chicken was almost under cooked. No flavor. The sauce didn't even taste like Harold's. Only received 1slice of bread. No coleslaw??? I will Never return. And it was my first time there. I'm going to stick to the Harold's on Michigan and Cermak
My chicken was horrible. And service was even worse. For a 6 piece wing it is 14$$$$. They purposely don't have the prices up. And the two darker dread heads not the lighter one... are rude and think they are funny... not knowing who their playing with. I had a horrible experience will NEVER BE BACK.
Yesterday, I visited Harold's after hearing great things about this restaurant on social media. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype, not even a fraction. As all the other Google Reviews comments have said, the girl at the front counter was very rude and curt with an overall bad attitude. Clearly the managers don't care because she's still employed.I wish I could say my bad experience ended there, but I ended up getting horrible food poisoning later on that day. I caught a flight out of Chicago that day and ended up throwing up on the plane, in the airport, on the shuttle bus, on the train, and then on the platform. I still feel nauseous, feverish and exhausted. You guys honestly have dropped the ball and need to do better. If I could call the health inspectors on your restaurant I would.
For more than a year I have sworn off eating fried foods, a prospect that has worked without complications. I have enjoyed alternative ways to dine. However, after leaving work in the West Loop last week, the smells wafting from the Harold's Chicken ?, was too powerful to ignore. I found myself walking towards the restaurant much like I'd done as a graduate student in Hyde Park, and there I was ordering 1/4 white extra crispy with sauce on the side. I couldn't wait to get home to devour my breast and wings, and I have to say my order was definitely not disappointing. It was delicious. I probably won't be a fried chicken ? connoisseur anytime soon, but suffice it to say that I'll indulge once again at some point this year.
I’ll be honest, the reviews kind of made me hesitant to visit this place. But I decided to try my luck do to this being well known place. Was a bit shady walking in but we were greeted by a friendly person that took our order. There was no dine in so we ventured back to our hotel through the Chicago Wind. Harold’s has delicious fried chicken and even more delicious fried cat fish. The Harold’s sauce was really good, wish I’d bought a bottle to take with me. Next time I’m in Chicago, Harold’s Chicken is a must go!
Horrible! Horrible! I just went to this location and didn’t get my money worth!!!!! After waiting a while, I just knew my food was going to be fresh! Not at all. It was soggy, one order had no mild sauce and it wasn’t fresh. Honestly, I don’t know what the cooks were doing. It seems as though my food was sitting there getting cold until the other chicken was done. This location isn’t worth your money. I will never ever go back to this location. Also, the price went up and it’s not worth a penny. FYI it wasn’t busy at all, no excuse Harold’s!!!!!!!!
