A great local Vietnamese restaurant with very authentic dishes. The prices are good & the portion size is well matched. All of the ingredients used are fresh & tasty. The staff are polite & very courteous. Overall, a great Vietnamese restaurant that's a hidden gem. Everything on the menu is tasty & fresh!

This place should be called HaiYUM. We got the Dungeness crab along with the lotus root salad and everything was amazing. The crab itself has to be a Top 100 dish in the country it is PERFECTION. I can't rave about it enough. The manager is super nice, and the owners are very kind. I'll definitely be back ??

You know you are in a good Vietnamese restaurant when there are Vietnamese customers, the nice aroma of fish sauce lingering and a young kid sitting in a booth behind a pile of plates and napkins studying and playing games on his phone. The service was quick and too the point. The food came out promptly with a generous portion of sides. Everything tasted perfect, full of flavour and texture.

Hands down the best Bo La Lot (Hawaiian leaf beef sausage) in town. This is my go to place when I crave for Bo La Lot. The service is always amazing and fast. If you haven’t tried this Vietnamese dish yet, please do yourself a favor and try it. It requires some wrapping so be prepared to get your hands dirty. I promise you it will be worth it.

I love all of the dishes here, they have great vegetarian options, in addition to many Vietnamese classics.

Stopped in for appetizers. Calm atmosphere & great service. We loved the Hawaiian Leaf Sausage, Crispy Egg rolls & Beef Kabobs

Really skillful, relaxing and tasty place! The iced Thai bubble tea was an excellent caramel flavor and appreciated the soft tapioca balls. The beef skewer appetizer was savory with a great crispy edge. My friend and I shared the lemon grass beef ban mi and the cubed filet mignon which was juicy and very flavorful, every bite was great. Had the flan for dessert and loved the texture and presentation. The restaurant is well designed with a calm and laid back atmosphere, music (smooth jazz) is at a perfect volume for enjoying without overwhelming, tables and chairs were very comfortable as well.Great service, the staff are very friendly and polite, they made us feel very welcome and appreciated. Can't wait to be back to try more!

Very disappointing. My family and I have ordered from this place many, many times. Gave chances upon chances too.Spending $50-$100 each time, but the owners don't seem to be appreciative, only focused on earning money.Last time they packed me moldy tomatoes that came with my korean ribs (never ordering that dish again)... when it's busy there, they can't keep up. I ordered bo la lot (2 servings) but they don't even try to give a second serving of vegetables or any extra food. We drive 1 hr to order here, but it's either mistakes are made, no apology and just money taken.I don't think we will order here for long.

The restaurant is a few hundred feet from the Argyle Red Line CTA stop. There are many Asian restaurants here. Hai Yen is clean and tidy with excellent service. The noodle soup, spring rolls, beef wrapped shrimp, and cashew shrimp were outstanding and served with very fresh herbs and sprouts. The asparagus soup was just so-so. Tripadvisor led me here in 2017 and I finally returned in 2022. It was just as good as I remembered. Wish I lived closer! We were the only non Asian customers :-)

Always our to go place when we go down here. Best authentic vietnamese food restaurant and services always better than anywhere else.
