Very good bagels. Be warned that orders get messed up because of how busy they are. $16 for lox, egg, and cream cheese bagel. Long wait just to receive the bagel without lox. Friendly staff but not the best place to go if you’re in a rush as it may take them a few tries to get it right.

These 5-stars come with a warning. This place will ruin all other bagels for you. I won’t pretend to be some bagel sommelier - I’m more of an equal opportunity bagel enthusiast. “There is no such thing as a bad bagel” school of thought and I used to sort of scoff at my friends who acted like any bagel outside of New York was trash. Then I had a Gotham bagel. It was great. Definitely the best bagel I had ever had. However, now any time I try to eat a non-Gotham bagel I take a bite and can’t finish it. So you’ll definitely have a great bagel and then you may never enjoy any other bagels for the rest of your life.

1/2 Star on Service. Wanted locks and bagels for family. (LEFT with $30 order of bagels and toppings and NO CREAM CHEESE)A. Waited 10 minutes with no human interaction while in the store at 7:59am. (Total wait time for incomplete order.... 30 minutes)B. Called the phone number (while in the store) to order at both 8:02am, 8:09am and it was not picked up even though there were people in the back.C. When I got to the front (NO CUSTOMERS BY THE WAY). More accurately, when someone from the back finally came up to meet me by the cash register/laptop, I was informed they were unable to take cash or credit cards by hand. So I ordered through there App. The app took several try's to install because it did not take my cell. Used a different phone number to create an account.D. I had money and a credit card and asked if an owner was on site. Of course there was not or anyone who cared about making money because I had cash and a credit card to pay. So installed the App.E. The delay was so long they gave me a free small black coffee and a bagel.... What was missing was cream cheese??? How could you take an order and not ask if I needed Cream cheese? I thought it was included. I was in there for 30 minutes getting 4 bagels and a $20.00 for 1/2 of Locks and Bagel toppings that didn't include Cream Cheese. I will not be returning to this place again. How can your see a customer struggling order bagels, bagel toppings... give me a small coffee when I never asked for one and not notice no cream cheese was ordered. This place was invented during the pandemic and hopefully it closes and bagel sales are returned to people who talk to their customers find out what they want and notice when things are not going well.BTW - This is the second time I have stopped towards 2pm when it closed so was completed shocked when I showed up early (one minute before it opened at 8am) for an even worse experience.

Honestly I really enjoyed the taste of the bagel, the smoked salmon was delicious with capers, but1. Placing a simple order was SO difficult. They said I can only place an order online which I tried completing but wasn’t able to because to order you needed to input an American ZIP code that matches your card and I’m from Canada .... so I couldn’t order.2. Had to essentially beg the front desk to let me get a bagel by ordering over the counter which apparently would never be allowed3. Was hoping to quickly walk in to grab a bagel and go as I had a very busy day ahead but instead wasted a ton of time trying to get said bagel. Ordering bagels shouldn’t be this difficult and time consuming.

Ordered online while waiting in the store and never got a text saying it was ready. So I waited for 25 minutes for a plain bagel with butter and then went up and asked and it had been sitting there. Got the text that it was ready when I had already left. Was friendly towards the worker on her phone at the register and said “have a good day” and she ignored me for her phone. The bagel was fine but wouldn’t go again for how unfriendly the staff was at that time plus to not let me know my order was ready when I was right there.

When it comes to NYC style lox bagel, this has been the best Chicago has to offer. I’ve had Corey’s bagel’s lox bagel and Goddess and the Baker’s for reference. But it’s still not as good as a legit one from NYC.I would say their other bfast sandwiches are better value for your money. The OMFG sandwich was pretty good. I’d recommend this.I believe the space is shared with a bar and the music in the morning was EDM. Didn’t make for a breakfast vibe but to each his own.

Arrived. Tried to place an order at the counter. You are only able to do it on their app. Makes 0 sense. Then I’m waiting 10 minutes for a bagel that’s just toasted with butter. If you want to wait a ridiculous amount of time your better off going elsewhere to be honest. I don’t recommend and the bagel was not even that great to wait this long.

I’m a bagel lover and Gotham is super close to my apartment. Probably one of my favorite places to walk to in the morning ? ?

Best bagel I’ve had in a long time!! Would highly recommend. Service was amazing and so friendly.

This place is so underrated!I LOVE their pickles, I told my husband he could take a bite of my bagel but not the pickle or I’ll fight him lol.All the ingredients are really good, the service is great too, just need to order online. I got my orders 5mins after I put my order in.Go try it!
