Gordos taco bar wasn't as good as the expectation. Food was good but the service. It was slow, definitely could have been better. Also the price does not match with the way the food is served. It could be good for laid-back party or group of people.
Staff is nice, food was okay. Music was good. Overall it was okay. The decor was the best part.
Loved it! Went on Monday during the happy hour, ordered the taco flight and margaritas. It was plenty of food and the flavors were excellent! I was happy they didn't double up the corn tortilla, and it held together really well. Even though it was a happy hour price, the drink was strong and the portion of food larger than I expected. If I lived in town I would be back today ?
Thursdays half off margaritas ? are so worth it. Roughly 4 glasses for $14 and the strawberry flavor is amazing!I also had corn tortillas and tried 3 different tacos; fish, top sirloin steak and regular steak. The fish and asada(regular steak) were REALLY good! The top sirloin was very dry and didn't really taste as good as the others, but it wasn't bad! If I'm in the area in the future I'd definitely come again!Note: the corn tortillas break easy, ask for 2 per taco
Went for margaritas with my sister. We got a pitcher and it was great! Then Ricky, the bartender, insisted we try Gordo’s Tequila! It exceeded my expectations. I love pineapple but was weary about the jalapeño. Overall it was a great flavor combination and I’m so glad we tried it! Definitely will be back for the food!
Treated our large group of 20 like family!! Wonderful staff and extremely quick service! Manager Jason was great! Couldn’t recommend this place more!
Being a Latina, this place made it feel like home in a downtown area where there aren’t too many Latino restaurants. A helpful server named Ricky attended us and the manager Jason made us feel welcomed. They served A LOT of meat in their tacos and their homemade tequila is delicious, even for those who don’t really taking shots! We liked their margaritas so much that we got a pitcher, which saved us some money. For other Latinos out here in Chicago, I recommend supporting this business!

We ordered from here twice and it’s been really good both times. Their menu is humongous, with lots of different options, but we’ve mostly stuck with tacos which were *all* great. The chicken tinga and the al pastor are probably at the top of the list. The approach to all of the tacos is simple, non-pretentious, not an overwhelming amount of ingredients but the ones that are used are flavorful and balanced. Definitely recommend.
AMAZING tacos! walked here with my boyfriend and had a great time, food was very good and service was good too, would definitely recommend!
