The sandwiches aren’t large, but they are tasty, and there are many options. The tomato pesto soup was also thick and creamy; perfect for dipping.
I just had a great grilled cheese!! The ladies in there were super nice and helpful. I think I got the Italian, which was suggested to get with blue cheese. The sandwich was perfect and hit the spot. The shrooms, onions, and ooey gooey cheese were a great combo for my pallet. I don't even like mushrooms. Thanks for making my lunch great.Thanks, Gayle. I went back last week. Loved the Lighter side that includes a grilled sandwich, tomato soup and homemade potato chips. You can add onion marmalade, ham, etc. The service excellent and they have LIVE music on Thursdays and Fridays
Everything about this place is wonderful. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They make me want to come back every time. The ingredients are all so fresh and of great quality. Definitely the best grilled cheese in town!
it was enjoyable, but I've had much better grilled cheese than the one I got here. Best part was the bread.
It looks like a lovely little place to have lunch, which I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to do because I forgot my vaccination card but the staff was nice. However, I can only give the place two stars - one for the atmosphere and one for the staff’s friendliness but minus three stars because the grilled cheese sandwich I ordered with mushrooms was rather small, thin, burnt, and simply disappointing for the $15+ I paid for it. I can’t see myself coming back or trying any of the other items on the menu.
Save your time and money. Best Ever Grilled Cheese only by name. Visiting from out of town and needed a "quick bite". It was not worth the long wait and typically I am willing to stand in really long lines for awesome food. We visited at about 3 pm. As visable in photos, our Southport, which was the classic with the onion marmalade, was so disappointing. We received two pieces of burnt bread with a small amount of filling. It's a nice atmosphere with live music but for the good of your wallet and stomach. I would skip this restaurant.
Gayle's is a great spot if you know where to find it. Location is great for those transferring trains, but you might not find it if you aren't looking for it. sandwiches are amazing, panini pressed and there are great combos and pick your own topping options as well. All sandwiches are on sourdough and buttered before the press. Handmade potato chips and tomato soup is a great pairing as well
Great food… prices are not super crazy.
I walk by Gayles every morning on my way to work and it makes me want grilled cheese at 8AM every.single.morning. Their sandwiches are second to none and the rest of their food is incredible as well! Everything is locally sourced and their staff is THE nicest staff around. They go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. They also have a great new location and it’s large enough to sit and eat in! Great, now I want one again!
