Even though the music was super loud and it was difficult to carry on a conversation and the service was terrible, their frozen margaritas were wonderful and their beef tongue was delicious. Don’t think I will be returning soon except for the margaritas and beef tongue dish.
Went in on Saturday evening and sat in the bar area and was served right away. Hadn't been to Garcia's for a few years and was pleasantly surprised that the quality and portions were as I remembered before the remodeling. The service was great had a great waitress and the hostess at the door was very nice and friendly. Had a combination plate and had enough for a doggie bag. Had a nice tequila cocktail that was perfectly made. Would highly recommend!
Friendly staff, tasty food (in HUGE portions), lively atmosphere - it's a neighborhood staple. I tried the Camarones Veracruzana, wanting something lighter than my typical enchiladas - the shrimp were perfectly cooked, though the sauce was sweeter than I'd expected... a big squeeze of lemon helped a lot, and the salad + avocado was a fresh and delicious addition. My husband had the Chicken Fajitas, his go-to order, and it was juicy and delicious as always.The main drawback is the noise level during busy times - at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, we practically had to shout to talk with each other. Don't bring your hard-of-hearing parents during peak hours! :-)

I have been coming to this place since I was young. I am 55 now and this place is running hot. Just took my family out 13 people. We had a blast and the food is dynamite like always. I still see people working there now, since I was a kid. I love this place. I take my Mom for Mother's Day. Garcia's Thank you guys for the service and great food.
Big portions, strong margs, great chips. A solid (and rare) Mexican spot in Lincoln Square. Staff is always great!

I loved it the first time I went here but it had been years since I had gone until I went spontaneously this weekend, and it was the highlight of my weekend.We walked into the restaurant and they immediately checked for proof of vaccination and we were promptly seated.I went with my friend and we both ordered margaritas. Mine was a blueberry margarita and he ordered a frozen coconut margarita. They're around 11 bucks each and they both tasted amazing. Keep in mind that they are huge, there's probably 2 drinks in each marg so you're definitely getting your money's worth.For appetizers we had chips, salsa, and guacamole. They were all super tasty and the chips were fresh. I got 2 tacos and he got the Garcia's Favorite combo which consists of a taco, a tostada, and 2 enchiladas. All the food was super flavorful. The portions are big so you'll definitely have leftovers to take home!Overall, this is a restaurant with really great food and really big portions so you're definitely getting your bang for your buck.
