We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and the care and attention we received was terrific. We were not rushed and our server & the manager were incredibly accommodating & gracious about our inquiries and requests. We had a lovely meal after a very long day.
The overall experience at this restaurant was decent - the cocktails are made well and the staff is incredibly friendly and informative. The waitress recommended 2-3 dishes / person, however that recommendation left us with an excessive amount of food leftover. The chicken parm and the side dish potatoes was the highlight of all of the dishes - the chicken entree was pretty dry and flavorless . I felt overall the food was decent but for the price lacking any significant notes of flavors that would make me come back.
Tom was great getting us a good table. Santiago was fabulous and speedy. Sommelier was very helpful. All in all, a great celebration for our 30th anniversary!
Their pasta is delicious, but the Bucatini Carbonara in particular is just divine, the best you'll find this side of Italy. Their cocktails are creative, well balanced, and great tasting. Steaks are good. Desert menu is unimpressive. Prices overall are steep, but you know that coming in. Definitely recommend.
1, our waitress was very rude. she had just set the check down, a few seconds later when my friend left she came back to pick it up, looked inside and literally said "this isn't done yet" and made a face...
The four of us went there to celebrate a birthday and spent nearly $300.00. To celebrate the birthday, Formentoes wrote "Happy Birthday in chocolate on the recipient plate. The Birthday Girl ordered a $4.00 sorbet and charged her for it. The sorbet probably cost the restaurant a $1.00 or less. Really!! Can the afford it?. Note to self, never ho to Formentoes for a birthday agin.
The service was a little slow. A large group seated after us got served before us and we sort of got forgotten. The food was ok, generous servings but nothing outstanding and quite salty. Menu descriptions didnât match up to the actual dish eg. One dish had a cream sauce but it wasnât on the menu as such, the Milanese Veal was just a crumbed chop, and a salad was laden in Parmesan!
First time here - old timey vibe with big leather banquets, dark wood, big bar. The Rat Pack would be quite comfortable in the dark rooms! Loved the atmosphere but it was a little loud for my middle aged ears, probably better for a large, rowdy 20-something group like the one right next to us. Pasta was very good and housemade. Chicken parmesan was the size of a small island. Gelato was also very tasty and beet salad and gem salad were solid. I'm giving it four stars only because I reserve five stars for foodie, chef-driven places. he outdoor area looked really nice but it was raining so we had to sit indoors. There's really nothing to complain about here - it's a nice, solid, traditional Italian restaurant.
The food was outstanding, so was the service - amazing place will visit again
Truly phenomenal food and great service. We rated it a 13 out of 10!
