Went out of my way to try these donuts and they were a huge disappointment. Sure. They donuts colorful, pretty and "instagrammable" but oh boy, what a huge let down. If you are thinking of coming here: DON'T. Not worth it. Oh, and everything is very expensive on top of it all. They belong in the trash like in the attached picture.

We were walking back to our hotel at night from a jazz club and I needed just a little something to eat. Firecakes was open and the donuts were calling to me, so we went in. It a tiny space and the guy behind the counter (very friendly, by the way) said they don't take cash, so make sure you have a bank card with you. I bought a Buttermilk donut and it was just what I needed, though a bit pricey for what you're getting.

Stopped by for a quick dessert when visiting Chicago. I came for donuts, but they also have coffee and ice cream. There's a glass case of about 20 ready made donuts. Person working the counter was very friendly and helpful. All to donuts looked great, but finally decided on the Churro dount and the Pistachio. There's a nice small sitting area right outside to enjoy the donuts. Donuts tasted amazing. Very fresh, soft, and not overly sweet. I enjoy when you can taste the actual donut for what it is and not just a bunch of sugar or toppings. I wish I had more time or was hungrier as would've ordered more donuts.

We stopped here on a Tuesday morning and ordered a few donuts. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered a Tahitian Vanilla, cinnamon roll, pistachio old fashioned, and peanut butter donut. The Tahitian Vanilla is the best! I’ve heard it’s popular and there’s a good reason for it. Make sure to try it out when you visit!

Shop is super tiny but they have a decent variety of donuts. No space for sitting except for tables outside. We got the ice cream sandwich donut and I have to say it was the most successful ice cream sandwich experience of my life. Surprisingly a donut is the perfect vessel to hold the ice cream in while taking a bite without the normal toothpaste tube push out the back.

You can't leave Chicago without visiting Firecakes Donuts! My world was opened to a new level of birthday celebration tasting their donut ice cream sandwich. Now I see why Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robins teamed up! But even they can't compete with the handmade deliciousness of these donuts. We talked ourselves into the donut ice cream sandwiches. My bride had the glazed donut with vanilla ice cream whilst I had the sprinkled donut with chocolate ice cream. The workers were very pleasant. They also sell coffee.

What a fun doughnut spot... if only we had enough room after lunch to try the ice cream sandwich! We bought three donuts to eat over the next few days: Pistachio - good overall flavor and nice texture. No real pistachio flavor Vanilla Iced - we got this one as they said it was their best seller. It was good. I'd eat it again, but probably wouldn't crave it as a flavor Coconut Cream - we agreed that this one was the best. It was also the one we ended up eating last, which meant it was the best even after two days. Great flavor and cream

We stopped by for one donut to share, NO CASH, had to charge it. Way overpriced, happy it was a block away from our hotel. Had one donut, never went back. Tasted like a dry cake. Go elsewhere.

The staff is inviting and wonderful. The donuts? Awesome. Enough options for everyone. And plenty of hot and cold drink options of what you would expect for a donut shop. There is a covered and uncovered seating area around the side of the building. Highly recommend.
