Had the vegi egg white omelette. They were willing to customize, which tells me that every thing is added as requested. I had the grits, which was a mistake as most diners don't have the time to get it right. But that's on me. I should have had hash browns. And they give 2 big pancakes too. The syrup is not good, so ask for a little extra butter for the pancakes. The omelette was delicious, but a bit overcooked on the edges. But egg white omlettes are difficult to get right anyway. A lot of food so you leave full, which is what I want from a place like this.Really nice old style breakfast diner that's a vanishing breed in the city. I'm glad it's still going good, and survived the pandemic.
The waitress was rude, then she got made because we didn't leave her a big tip, but on the other hand, she should have shut her mouth, she don't know I was about to be a blessing to her, but I heard all she said. Sometimes we need to be quiet, and I want have her serve me again. People don't owe you a tip, they do it because of your service, not for saying things to try to make a person feel bad. Again she missed her blessing.
They have definitely fallen off since the last time we were there. The server is pleasant and friendly. But the cough he had while his masked was pulled down is a little unnerving. The price of the coffee has risen too much for me to even want to enjoy a cup. The food I ordered had no flavor. Probably won't be coming back here anytime soon.
Eppel's is my new go to weekend breakfast spot. In the big city, it's hard to find the kind of warmth and comfort lost in other pretentious breakfast places. Portions are generous, service is friendly, and as soon as I walked through the doors I knew the smell meant they had the kind of biscuits and gravy that make you need a post breakfast nap. The only thing that could improve this beautiful west side gem is a pie case. Here, I have the Royal Canadian burger, cheese fries, and peach pecan crepes, a great midmorning meal before spending the day running errands. If it's your first time, try the country fried steak and see if they'll throw it on top of some biscuits and gravy for you. Cheers, and good eats to you all.
This is my favorite breakfast spot. The food is delicious (I usually go for the scrambles), and the staff treat you like family.
Amazing Breakfast place! I discovered it on local news several years ago, went with my family on a few occasions. Never disappoints! The space is a bit tight, but the food makes up for it! Supple scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, amazing skilleta chock full of meat & hash browns...what more could you ask for?
Easily one of my new favorite spots for breakfast. The food was delicious. The portions are huge for the price.
Fantastic homely diner. Food was amazing, hot, and quick. Not too many other patrons at this time of morning. Waitress was very pleasant, and kept water and coffee topped up often.Got The Works Skillet, with your preference of two eggs on top of hash with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, and cheese, and two pancakes on the side. Worth the 10$, and filling.Definitely would recommend!
First time going and it was the best first experience. The staff are friendly. I got the Pecan Roll French Toast with a sides of bacon and scrambled eggs. Also got a strawberry milkshake. ? would go back again to try out more things from the menu.
Excellent customer service! Love the choices ?
