It was just OK. Pulled pork was mushy, ribs were good. Breakfast tray including bacon was just so-so. Chicken tenders were nothing special and overcooked. Pulled pork tacos, corn salad and turkey BLT were good but not tasty enough that I’d make an effort to come back. There are many better places for smoked food in Chicago, including my backyard. The experience wasn’t memorable though the employees were very friendly. The interior eating area should be rearranged to move more or bigger tables to the wall of open windows to maximize the view and breeze for people.
The food is awesome no matter what BBQ I get it's so tender & just falls off the bone even the salads were so good. The staff was so nice & helpful. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone & everyone I know.
So thankful to have Ella’s in our neighborhood. Comforting vibes at this spot and the staff is always in a great mood! BBQ always hits the spot too, they really know how to dish out some brisket. Their BBQ sauce rules too. The cornbread is my favorite of their sides.
Absolute worst costumer service I’ve ever received by the young man at the front counter. I walked in with a great attitude and the guy was not cooperating to what I was asking him for. Another thing is it might have been the kitchen’s fault but I specifically asked for a plain hot dog as I have various allergies and would just rather add my own condiments and instead got the opposite with everything over it. I don’t think he wrote it in the notes but it’s the details that I would have appreciated. I’ve been here a few times in past years but never have I been treated as such in this establishment.
Brisket Sandwich was great. Smoked 16hrs the Chef said I believe he mentioned Apple wood chips. Go for the larger portion option 6oz. Little expensive go figure it's Lincoln Park!!
Normally I would. But there’s no reason that they had to deliver the sandwich that’s 99% fat! It’s disgusting an inedible!
A fantastic barbecue brisket sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. A soft drink to wash it all down. The service was personal and attentive. Only negative was very expensive $18.90 for a sandwich mac and cheese and a Coke. But you can't ask for everything.
