I love this Nigerian food gem! I tried the Jollof Rice Platter w/ salmon and a side of plantains. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the rice was fluffy and flavorful and the plantains were A-1! What I liked most is that it was good food, but not heavy.*NOTE: You won’t see signage in the front as it’s inside of the Currency Exchange right on 55/Prairie
Best food ever the suya was to die for. The owners were very polite. Made sure we were satisfied with our food would highly recommend...
Excellent blend of Senegalese and Nigerian foods cooked to utter perfection. This food is amazing and I can't wait to return. So glad to have found and supported this Pop Up inside Retreat at Currency Exchange Cafe. We dined on the Jollof rice. 1 with chicken and 1 vegetarian with red peppers, mushrooms and red onions! Delightful!! We also at Chicken Suya sticks. Absolutely wonderful!! Flavor explodes in your mouth.Retreat is also amazing. Soulful and peaceful atmosphere. They have live music on Thursday and Friday evenings until 9pm.Staff are kind and beautiful. I felt at home.2 reviews in 1. You won't be disappointed.
Dozzy is the best, sat with us at our table. Loves to share his passion for west African food.
The jollof burritos are great.
I love the concept of Dozzy's Grill. We have used various services from personal catering and for small gatherings. Most recently had a private tasting for my wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience!! The flavor is delicious food and customer service is excellent.
The food is delicious and creative. Dozzy’s is pushing West African cuisine into unexplored territory in Chicago and I love them for their unique fresh take and flavorful fun food.
Portion was extremely little for the price...taste is also to be debated
The food was seasoned perfectly and everything was absolutely amazing!!!
Ordered the ribeye suya stick and shrimp suya stick platters, each with jollof rice and plantains and the international cake. Originally had ordered the cole slaw, but I was told that the slaw was unavailable and so they threw in a steak jorrito - like a burrito with jollof rice. Everything was DELICIOUS - perfectly spicy, very flavorful, and great portions! The ribeye and the jorrito steak were marinated in peri-peri and it was fantastic. And customer service was great - very responsive and very flexible. We will be back!
