We ordered three Breakfast meals, One was great. The next one had over cooked Bacon and over easy eggs were solid. The third was to include chipotle aioli but not found. Nice ambiance and they play LP records.
Went to Dove’s off advice from a bartender, it was great! We stopped for a late breakfast/lunch. The spot is like an old dinner that’s turning out some fantastic food. We got the chicken fried chicken and the burnt ends hash. Both were really good and we ended up splitting both. Also had some cocktails..cause why not!
Cutest little spot for a delicious lunch, can’t wait to go back!
I love this place - I moved to the neighborhood during COVID and there isn’t anything around like it, so I was excited as anyone else when it reopened! I’d still like a diner around that isn’t $15+ per plate, but that’s every restaurant in Wicker - this one’s really refined for the price.Food is simple and delicious, great combinations of American diner classics with robust Mexican flavors. Classic pozole and burnt ends hash are delicious, masa pancakes are wild, but I miss the memela! Will have to come back in day drinking moods more often to really explore the excellent tequila and mezcal selection — had a delicious cantarito once though!Excellent service, especially at the bar. Respect for spinning records while busy! Will be back as often as I live close by.
Lovely brunch. Great flavors, all unique twists on classic dishes. Service was good, ambience was interesting. The potatoes on the dove’s deluxe were so good.Would recommend this place!
Went for Sunday brunch; seated more quickly than I was expecting! The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Open kitchen and diner seating make this a really fun experience. The masa pancaked and chicken fried chicken were the big hits!
Tlayuda was an excellent breakfast, but probably better to share - it's a lot of food for one person.
If you are looking for a lunch spot then I highly recommend this place! We had our lunch in here and the place is really nice with cozy vibe, the service is great staff is friendly and helpful with all our needs, food did not take long and most importantly food is delicious! I really enjoyed our lunch in here. They have huge selection on their menu everything is literally in there, everything that you could ask for your lunch is available in there. Prices are also fair and reasonable and choosing to eat here for lunch is a really nice option instead of going somewhere expensive. Honestly, food in here is delicious that it could pass as a food from an expensive restaurant. I highly recommend this place and you would not regret ever. I will definitely be back!
So happy that Doves is re-open and local restaurants like Doves was able to make it thru the pandemic. I’ve never had a bad meal so my 5 star rating is based on multiple visits. I was super happy that they had available their “back to life cocktail”…basically a very tasty ceviche. If you have never been, the restaurant is a small space with mostly counter seating a a few communal tables.
Dove’s is an experience; beautiful windows, charmingly decorated, always bustling, warm and cozy. The food may surprise you with its classic fare but with unique and flavorful taste. You may read a dish and feel it familiar, then taste it and find it’s better than what you had. Don’t fear the basic and enjoy all they have to offer; avocado toast (anything with their thick slices is a win) or chilaquiles, all are hearty! If you don’t want as much at once, try asking for them as sides or small plates. The service is always kind and though seating can feel tight, it doesn’t feel stuffy. Best place to people watch!
