Cute little donut place sort of off the beaten path but very popular! Friendly staff. Found this place while on the Donut Tour which you must take while in Chicago!
The inside is a small hallway and very tight. Only a few people can go in at a time. Inside it’s simple but beautiful. The doughnuts are fresh and when they’re out, they’re out. Go early if you are going on a weekend. We tried the chocolate glazed, old fashioned, and pride cake doughnut. Best cake doughnut I have ever had. Delicious!
This is a very unique and characteristic place. The outside is fun to look and very authentic. It brings you back in the past and it makes you feel like you are getting Donuts & Coffee in the way your grandparents used to do.Quality is very good and all the 4 donuts I had were excellent. Even the simple drip coffee was marrying perfectly with the sweetness of the donuts. The inside is for sure authentic because the space is very limited (few square feet) and it allows you only to order what you want and quickly leave. I can imagine that this could be something creating discomfort for many, but from the other side I loved because I never experienced this anywhere else
.[6/25/2022] last day in Chicago. A quick stop along my running route post-breakfast. A hole-in-the-wall spot, with a small counter and one server behind it. Friendly guy, no line, all doughnuts in stock at 8:15 on a grey Saturday morning. I got a Glazed Vanilla and a Pistachio Old Fashioned, both to go. There were several tables set up curbside along Franklin. I chose to run back to my hotel area (Loop) and ate them beside the Picasso sculpture at the Daley Center. Both very good - I’d go back again!
Need to come back here to get the full experience! Not a lot of donuts available by the time I came in at 12 but doable. The staff were more than helpful and delighted that I came in though. The donuts are big here as in one donut is bigger than the size of my palm. Paid over $16 for the box of donuts that I had. Really likened their donuts. Lots of glazing. Best tip from the staff member is to order online in order to ensure you get what you wanted.
Fantastic doughnuts, their daily specialty sells out fast. The samoa old fashion is like a Girl Scout cookie taste. The orange jelly doughnut is exceptional. The fritter is more pillowy and slightly less sweeter than othe fritters I have had which have a cruchy top layer; but still a winner.
Donuts here are great. I think up there with Firecakes, if not better. Very picture worthy and tasty. The yeast donuts are pretty big too. They're great to give as a treat for a friend or yourself.
Might because of the rain or time, I didn’t line up.It’s my first time having an old fashioned, so for me it’s not too sweet, the texture is fluffy and moisture. I like it!And the clerk was so nice.?
Delicious donuts. Great coffee. Friendly, fast service! There’s a reason why this place always has a queue outside on weekend mornings!
Our fav doughnat shop , we are here every weekend to grab awesome doughnats and tasty coffee ❤
