Fantastic Szechwan Restaurant. The vegetarian selections are uniformly tasty and they're willing to make certain dishes, like Dan Dan Noodles, without meat. Everything tastes wonderful with great flavors. The Mala pops in Mapo Tofu. The Yushiang Eggplant is reminiscent of Fish Flavored Eggplant. Good addition to the Restaurants to revisit in Chinatown.
I lived in Sichuan for 2 years and this is the BEST place for legit Sichuanese in Chicago. OMG it was delicious. I got 水煮牛肉 and 辣子鸡。Can’t recommend the 辣子鸡 enough, it was out of this world. Also had Scallion Pancake 葱花饼 and 抄手 (dumplings) and 干煸四季豆. I’m ashamed that was all just for me because I’m a glutton and I miss legit Sichuan food. Chef was trained at a top-notch culinary arts university in Chengdu. Just Go! Staff lady couldn’t have been kinder! Love this place!!!
The place is totally outdated, BUT the food makes up for it. I don't understand why places like Noodle Creations(tried and never going back) are hyped on social media. That is NOTHING compared to authentic Chinese cuisine by Dongpo.
One of the most authentic and wonderful chinese food we’ve ever eaten in the US! We came in on a Sunday night when everywhere else had a long line. We were skeptical about the google reviews because there was not a single person in this restaurant. It turned out they were only offering takeouts. We happily sat down after the waitress welcomed us in warmly. Everything we ordered was done quickly and super delicious! The fish was tender and definitely worth the $5 extra to order a fresh one. The beef was also tender and spicy. If you like SICHUAN spicy food, this restaurant can’t be beat! The price is also quite reasonably.
The restaurant with the best service in I’ve had Chicago Chinatown. Foods are so authentic and tasty.Prices are reasonable. Strongly recommended.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Chinatown!! We always come back for more because we love it so SO much. Every single dish is authentic, flavorful and nicely spiced (not in a numbing way). Best part about this restaurant is the sweet lady who runs the shop. Her smile is contagious and she always pair our take out orders with either some sort of free dessert or appetizer (We got juicy dumplings last time ?). If you are lost on what to order, you can’t go wrong with Meizhou Pork Ribs (slightly crispy + delicious) , Boiled Fish (basically comes in an KFC bucket size tub! Talk about incredible portions) & Meizhou Dry Chili Chicken (So bomb ❤️? + Extra crispy!!). This place deserves ALLL the recognition. Please stop by when you get a chance!
So yummy! When we went in, the lady who runs the place seemed totally short-staffed and overwhelmed with lunchtime takeout orders. But she somehow turned out a huge, beautiful lunch for us in record time. Loved the Sichuan string beans, sesame noodles, silken tofu with shrimp, and scallion pancakes. She also threw in some extra dishes, like a sweet rice porridge and hand cut noodles in spicy sauce, for free. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Chicago Chinatown!
We were so impressed with the food it was very authentic! I loved the Mapo tofu, the sweet potato cakes, and the egg drop soup was an amazing huge bowl for $3! There seemed to be one person working but they did an incredible job and even gave us a free side and extra water bottles because they felt bad for our wait but honestly it wasn't even bad at all. We will absolutely be back again!
Most restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown serve Cantonese or southern Chinese cuisine, so I was thrilled to find some northern specialties on the menu here. The stewed eggplant and tomatoes with eggs were both superb, prepared fresh. Anyone who grew up with a Mandarin-speaking family will remember eating tomatoes and eggs, and these tasted just like what my parents used to make for me. Almost cried a little bit while eating. Service was also on point, very attentive and prompt.
