I love love love Dirk’s - we’ve been coming here for years - and now it’s bigger and better. I’ve also picked up recipes from them over the years (I make their cioppino all the time). Yes it costs more, but over the years I have bought fish from places like Mariano’s and multiple times, the product is just not good. Last night we made a baked see bass and wow - one of the best fish meals I’ve ever made at home.
Dirk's is the best seafood in the city and the best selection as well. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable about not only the selection but about cooking as well. Dirk is a super nice and helpful dude himself. Couldn't be happier with my experience there.
This place is awesome. Tons of fresh fish, very new/clean, and they offered us free samples before making a purchase.

I love Dirk’s. I won’t buy my fish anywhere else, it’s just so good here. I’ve had the tuna and salmon both raw and cooked, as well as some of the crab/crabcakes/ other selections they have in the fridges in the back. One stop shop for everything fish/sushi related, also great for homemade spring rolls (pictured!)
Been coming here for years, their fish is always fresh and guidance is on-point. They have a wide selection. Their cocktail sauce and shrimp is to die for. Some other favorites are their halibut, oysters, and mussels, but you are safe no matter what you get here. Dirk is a cool guy too and his prices are in line with what you find at most grocery stores. Stop buying from the chain groceries and support this local shop with the freshest fish in the city!
Amazingly good seafood, easily the best in Chicago. My wife is addicted to their lobster salad. And great staff. Always friendly and helpful. I can't wait to see the expanded shop.
Been a patron of this fine establishment for some years now. Staff is awesome. Dirk is super cool and takes good care of his customers. Fish is fresh daily.
