Pulled pork sandwich, corn pudding, Mac n cheese. The sandwich was good, could do without the Mac and cheese, and really enjoyed the corn pudding. The portions are large, not sure if it’s worth the price though. $25 just for a sandwich and side? Ouch!
2nd time eating from here. 1st time was when it first opened years ago. It was pretty average then and still average now for Chicago area BBQ. Picked up ribs, wings, pork puppies, Mac & cheese, & collard greens. Everything except the Mac & cheese and wings were heavily salted with the collards winning the grand prize for saltiness. Ribs were dry. Wings were good. If you're looking for good BBQ in the area drive a few blocks south to the BBQ spot located at 18th and Racine.
Aesthetic BBQ joint with solid portions! I ordered a brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and hush puppies. Pleasantly surprised with the whole experience, would recommend for casual BBQ eats
Excellent service and some of the best BBQ I've had in Chicago. We split the brisket, a hot link, biscuits, hush puppies, and baked beans. Definitely ask for the mustard sauce.
My friend ordered from here for a gathering. When the bag arrived it was missing several items. She called to report the items missing with GrubHub. Shortly afterwards the owner of County BBQ called and started asking her a ton of questions about the order in an accusatory manner. She answered on speakerphone and everyone was just sitting there listening to this woman repeatedly tell her she received the items that were not in the bag. I could see her getting frustrated, but she was more than polite in answering all of the questions because what was the real point of the call? The food wasn't going to just appear out of no where. The lady even insisted that the item was in a box, but we never received a box, just a bag. Then the owner calls GrubHub and continues lying saying that we received items that were not delivered. Why didn't it occur to her that if she sent a box that it was probably still in the delivery drivers car? Her certainty that it was delivered would make a lot more sense if the owner had packed and delivered the items herself, but the mere fact she was so certain there was theft going on without having a reason was pretty pathetic. At the end of the day, no one likes to be accused of wrong doing and for that reason I will never use this restaurant. The food that we did receive was decent except for the cornbread that tasted like stale paper.
Great cozy space. Good service. Brisket and ribs were great. Corn pudding was delish!
I was at a party last night and the host ordered delivery. One bag arrived but they ordered several food items that weren’t included. They call to report that the items aren’t there and then the owner calls back. She starts grilling them about a box that wasn’t with the order. The crazy thing about it is we only had one bag delivered for the entire order. I could see if the owner packed and delivered the item herself, but there’s no valid reason she should accuse anyone of stealing. She kept saying it was in a box but there wasn’t a box delivered and she still decided we were stealing food instead of acknowledging that if she sent a box the bag was the only thing delivered. Horrible experience
Visited during Omicron, so we had to show vaccination cards just to get in. Smaller place, but not cramped. Simple menu and everything comes a la carte. What we ordered had decent flavor and the food was cooked properly. For the price, I was not impressed with the quantity of food and I didn't think the taste made up for the lack of meat. Our waitress was nice and the place was clean, so overall, it wasn't a bad experience but there was nothing that really makes me want to go back again soon.
Ok maybe it’s my taste in bbq that didn’t fit this place. Ordered lunch and was looking forward to the Mac and cheese and Rib Tips and was disappointed. So these 4 stars and 5 stars in the ratings must be to their liking in taste meaning bland But I do not recommend, half of one side of my rip tip was way over cooked the Mac and cheese was bland bland yes you read that correctly had to double the bland. Not worth the price
the ribs were the best I've ever had. the corn pudding was to die for and the BBQ sauce was out of this world
