Japanese Sushi Bar Soup

Had the chicken bento box and panna cotta for desert! Both were incredible and the service was great, even with a busy lunch crowd.

This place is one of the few places in Chicago that offers authentic Japanese cuisine beyond sushi and ramen (which is not what most Japanese eat on daily basis anyways). The eel seiro is my favorite. I get it almost every time. They also don't overuse sugar as much in their sauces here. Great place to expand horizon, or get comfort foods, depending on your background.

Sukiyaki is awesome. The order (for 2 people) also come with rice and green tea for dessert. I recommend also getting the egg (extra) to have with the sukiyaki. Reservations recommended via phone, as the restaurant was quickly full after opening. Highly recommend!

This restaurant seems specialized for sushi and after-work drinks; they’ve other things, like the tantanmen I ordered, but those are far from their mainstay.

When Google is needed to understand the menu, it usually means authentic Japanese cuisine will be served. So is Cocoro. To prove my point, just check out the rice quality: very good balance of texture, stickiness and oiliness.Edited: visited a couple more times and tried other dishes. Highly recommend the Grilled Saury Fish

Wow. First of all, this is one of the very few Japanese places in town that offer a full Japanese dinner menu, and not just Sushi -which by the way was spectacular so its worth a visit if you're only having Sushi. A big part of why the rolls tasted so good was the sublime room temperature they came at, instead of the cold cuts we used to get at other places. I had never had a Japanese curry before, and was blown away with my dish today. My wife had the Unaju which was pretty much the best I had ever tasted, with melt-in-your-mouth eel on rice. We had the Salmon skin Maki that was so good we regretted not ending our meal with it, same goes for the incredible Uni which was the creamiest we've ever had. For the dessert, my wife love dher green tea ice cream which was a very generous portion, but I feel that my green tea cheesecake was a step up in flavor so I'd recommend that instead. Service was perfect and prompt, with very friendly and considerate servers. Overall we had a blast and I don't think there's any reason to have Japanese anywhere else in the city. My only complaint could be that when I had the rest of my curry boxed, our server placed the shrimp and rice in the box and didn't pour all the delicious left over curry sauce, that's all)

I really like the rolls. My favorite was the dragonroll.I ordered the katsu curry. The rice was cooked perfectly. The katsu portion is great. I also like the miso soup that came with the meal.My friend thought his katsu don was fine. He thought maybe more sauce would be better. There were no sauce in the lower part of the rice. All in all, I will recommend my friends to come to this restaurant in the future!

Good at all Japanese Restaurants in Downtown Chicago, real Japanese taste. Also it’s too expensive but they’ll have to wait a awhile for servicing, Food and Serving. They’re operating by Family members, only three of them. It’s not that long time for waiting, it’s worth to wait I should tell you.

The food is pretty good, you can tell it’s authentic. But I really think the hotpot is overpriced.Great service tho!

Were there for lunch recently and got pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices and immaculate cleanness of the place. Ordered pork ramen and some sushi set. Cannot say it was the best ramen I've ever tried (okay though) but the fish was very fresh and the level of service was appropriate
