Vacation in Chicago, had to stop at Chicago's Home of the Chicken & Waffles. It's a soul food spot owned by a Black Man. Food tastes as if his Momma or Grandmother taught this man how to cook. ? food. Cool atmosphere. No complaints. For Dessert try the peach cobbler a la mode. ????.
My mom and I went (after running errands) and both had chicken wings...mine with waffles and hers as the dinner (which came with 3 sides) and I also ordered a grilled salmon dinner to go. The food was very good, especially the wings. The only think that caused me concerned was that the menu price and and the receipt price (the menu said there was a difference but not how much per item), that was very confusing.Outside of that the food won't disappoint.
I went here this past weekend and got the chicken and waffles which is my favorite meal ever… EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, from the food down to the staff and General Manager who was attentive. Definitely will be back this weekend
The food was good. Not as good as Rosco's in LA but good. But the service wasn't that great. We we're waiting for the other half of our party to arrive so they didn't seat us right away. They eventually seated us because my mom wanted some coffee but they did not refill her coffee and they didn't have hot tea, not even hot water. It seemed liked they were rushing us out. Sorry, I didn't get a chance to take pictures of our food.
This place is a whole vibe! Who the hell back there cooking is what I asked my friend as we stuffed our faces with they bum axx collard greens! Hell I’m writing these when I’m supposed to be eating so this gone be short…. This shxx is DELICIOUS in Spanish… whatever the correct spelling is… lmao… get here!!! Tip the cook for the FLAVOR!!!!

The food used to be great here but my chicken, grits and waffle didn't come out hot which makes me think the plate was sitting for awhile and then they added the eggs with cheese which was good. The chicken didn't have that great seasoned taste it used to.
I love this place and go here often but tonight my order was TERRIBLE! Not only did I not get what I ordered ($44 worth of food) I ordered 2 white dinners breast with greens yams and dressing. After waiting hour they tell me no dressing (ok fine) but when get home check my food not only is not my completed (wings with no breast- one order had 3 wings and other 4 wings that I didn’t order but presentation of food was also is terrible (sloppy) ! I’m very disappointed and will be calling for refund or replacement of food that I ordered and paid for
