My BF and I came here for brunch on Sunday. We are drawn to local spots that have extensive vegan options, as he is Vegan and I limit my meat and dairy intake.I wish we would have found Casa Yari sooner. I "vegan french toast" and "shrimp and sweet grits" were AMAZING. Full of flavor and beautiful presentation. We will be coming back in the future to try their dinner menu!
Absolutely perfect food. My family shared all of our dishes and every single one was overflowing with exceptional flavors. The Pollo Con Tajadas (Pollo Chuco) blended savory and sweetness with acidity in an flavor experience unlike anything else.Come here and enjoy my friends, I promise you won't be disappointed.
What the chef does is unbelievable. This isn’t your typical quick fried street food. This takes Latin cuisine to an artistic and beautiful level. The flavors are everything of the island with an elevated twist. I guess I can describe this as creative, new, refreshing but homey. How this establishment has managed to do that, I’m not sure. They understand the dietary restrictions of keto, pescatarian, vegan, and vegetarian (without compromising flavor). They just recently remodeled and the location finally matches the quality of food. Scrolling through social media I have seen bloggers posting about Casa Yari. While it makes me happy this place is receiving the credit it deserves, I see reservation competition ahead :)
My friend and I are here while I was visiting Chicago. It’s a BYOB restaurant-which we didn’t know until we arrived. So we walked across the street to a liquor store and bought some wine. It paired well with our food which was soooo good! I had the empanadas and shrimp mofongo. The flavors took me back to my trip to Puerto Rico when I visited Old San Juan. You should definitely give this place a try for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine.
I'm rating on the takeout this round. The food was incredible. We will be sampling more from the menu soon. Oh, yeah! They have monthly cake items from Pie Pie My Darling. Seriously... get your order submitted for a big case of Happy-Belly! ♥️
Just alright. The decor inside is depressing. She puts more into making the dishes colorful and pretty than what actually matters. YOUR RICE IS DRY! THE YUCCA IS HARD AND DRY! That chimmi sauce DOES NOT go on everything, especially the jibarito. And please stop drowning the Doblados with cheese! And lower the prices some. They don’t justify what we’re actually getting
Casa Yari definitely lived up to its hype. First of all, I love that this is poc owned. The interior is gorgeous!! And the backyard patio is perfect for outdoor seating. As for the food, it’s flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Everything, and I mean everything, can be made vegan which is amazing for vegetarians, vegans, and of course people who eat halal. I can’t wait to come back here and try other foods I’ve yet to try. I also had the cucumber pineapple lemonade (ok maybe I forgot the exact name) but it was so perfect for a hot day.
This is some of the best 'Rican food I've had in Chicago. Plus, they have TONS of vegan options--you can veganize most menu items. And the vegan options are not some sad after thought. Everything is flavorful and very well put together. Their chimichurri sauce is everything! And their vegan bacalaitos with banana blossom hit the spot for those vegans out there who miss bacalaitos. My omnivorous partner enjoyed them too. Also, they have the cutest patio which is the perfect place for a late summer dinner. Do yourself a huge favor and grab a bite at this local-owned, fresh take on Puerto Rican classics. You'll be glad you did!
Ame el lugar es como estar almorzando en casa pero con chef incluido!!!! La comida deliciosa y el servicio excelente!!!! Bendiciones!!!
