This was my second time ordering food from here. Last time was over a year ago. I took so long to visit again because I had a bad experience with an error in my takeout order the first time; I ordered one item and received a different one, but was told it was my fault for not speaking clearly. Maybe I did mumble but I could’ve done without the sass.Having gone a second time, I’ll pass on a third. The food isn’t bad! It’s also reasonably priced! The service for me has just been yucky. The waitress two days ago appeared to be bothered when we asked what sides she recommended for a sandwich. We ended up getting no response after inquiring 3 times. It was weird. She seemed annoyed that we were there.On another note, there was a family waiting & seated outside for ~30 minutes. Then, 25 minutes before closing, someone (not the waitress that had been tending to all of the tables outside) came out with the table's glasses of water yet proceeded to tell them that the restaurant was closed. He also abruptly spilled out five cups of water near our table outside.I don't know, I hate leaving less than positive reviews, but I feel I have to share my two experiences.
Always a nice dining experience… excellent cafe con leche - and several traditional Cuban cuisine items (as well as some fusion items with a Latin flair). Great ambiance with Cuban music playing in the background. Very friendly staff - always get service with a smile!
Soggy nacho chips… moms plate was so plain no taste … meat was super tough to chew… waitress look like they hate life here… first and last time coming… also my guava pork sandwich was all barbecue… just sloppy not Appetizing at all… if I could give 0 stars I would of..
Sat outside to enjoy the day. Great cafesito! Staff did an amazing job. Very dog friendly. ?
The Cubano sandwich is amazing and cafecito is the best coffee i had in the US so far.
Good food and drink, great patio, fairly priced. Often has long wait time.Verdict - would go back and recommend to a friend.
I was so excited to order from this place seeing that it has vegan options. I ordered the Vegan vaca dish. However the rice and beans were never sent. When I called and let them know that the order was sent incorrectly. The guys stated that I needed to go through DoorDash and request a refund without acknowledging the fact they made a mistake. He was very rude and hung up on me. These people do not deserve to be in business if they don’t understand the customers is what makes them. Also, I was hoping that at least the food was good but it was so dry. It was actually not good. Maybe the Rice and beans would’ve been good but I can’t say since I didn’t get them. The costumer is always right. These people don’t deserve your money.
Cafecito has had my heart since college in the south loop, and I was so stoked when they started opening more locations. Their pressed sandwiches and iced cafe con leche (and reasonable prices!) are unmatched, and the owners are the kindest. It's one of the #1 places I take friends/family who are visiting the city, and everyone always loves it.
Good choice of breakfast sandwiches. Good coffee. A bar you can sit at. Friendly staff. Worth the stop.
Let me start by saying I don't give reviews so this one was well deserved. I want thank Mariana who gave us Amazing service. She was a one woman wrecking crew. She worked extremely hard and kept a smile even though she was so busy and understaffed. Food was great as usual but her service went above and beyond ??
