I can't say enough great things about Boonie foods! Everything on the menu is so flavorful and special and made with love I highly recommend the liempo/bbq pork belly. And also the halo halo (pictured) if you want something sweet and refreshing on a hot day! Also the people who work here (Joe, Joyce, Sayuri, sorry if I missed anyone!) are the nicest and are super cool. Don't miss out !!!

I highly recommend Boonie Foods for their creativity in using local and Filipino ingredients alike to achieve the same flavour profiles and satisfying textures you would typically experience in Filipino dishes. Not pictured, but their crispy bagnet is so good and pairs well with the papaya salad. FYI, their portions are generous. I also had their Halo-Halo, which is probably the best one I’ve had in ages (or maybe ever!), even counting the ones I’ve had in the Philippines. The crushed ice to topping ratio is spot on, and the sweetness is very balanced. Each bite is creamy, chewy and crunchy – it’s such a delight to eat and is so refreshing. Be sure to get it while it’s available this summer!

Dangerously delicious Filipino fare. Chef Joe has perfected Filipino takeout food with really strong, punchy flavors. The garlic rice and runny egg served with every fried rice plate is as critical to the experience as the main entrée and sides. If you’re not sure where to start, your best bets are the extremely hearty bagnet (crispy pork), sisig (crispy sizzling pork), or beef tapa (beef steak, as pictured). Throw in a side of the tomato salad or mac salad (Filipino mac n’ cheese) and you’re golden. Feeling feisty? Throw in some lumpia too because…why not?Needless to say, don’t miss out. Give it a try — you will fall in love. I certainly did!

Got the crispy pork. Really good

I literally just finished devouring the much praised sisig - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I got it with the pickled papaya and I’m glad as it lightened the dish immensely.

Insanely Delicious Filipino Comfort Food.

Super friendly staff and GREAT food! I’ve never had Filipino food from a restaurant, and the host was kind and explained the menu to me. I got the Garlic Sausage (vigin longanissa) and it was delicious, I can’t wait to try the other rice bowls! Most of the their menu items are gluten free, and can be dairy free, which is a huge plus. Happy to have found a new lunch spot!

During covid I really lost a love of eating restauraunt or cafe food. A lot of places I used to love had food quality slip. I ate here last week when visiting Chicago. You honestly brought back my love for food. The flavors of your coconut shrimp still swim in my head. Thank You.

A delightful dining experience with good service and good quality food. It was definitely better than I had suspected because I think most ventures by celebrities are just a cash grab without focusing on the actual business, but everything was really good here.

Soo good. I had this pork hash dish with pickled papaya (new to me). Both were so amazing and reminded me of food from Guam. Found this place on a whim and will be going back daily until I leave Chicago!
