So we read about this place and had to see it for ourselves! We walked down the steep steps as we entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted by staff. Really good burger! Order a triple as the patty’s are small. I imagine this place has not changed since it opened years ago and no money has been spent to remodel. It’s an original!
We’d read some bad reviews so were a bit wary of eventually realizing our dream of getting to Billy Goat’s. We shouldn’t have worried, the food service was fast and accurate, the cheezeborger was great, a bit thinner than other places but really tasty. They wanted to upsell me a double cheeseburger but the single was definitely enough. Hot dog also fine, I know, you don’t really come here for the dogs but they're really good. The place is steeped in SNL history, lots of memorabilia on the walls. Everywhere was very clean and the food q moved quickly. We moved to the bar stools after eating, again the staff were really chatty, helpful and made us feel welcome. We were very lucky to get seats, I guess we went at the right time…3 ish pm
I have come to the realization that the bartender wrongfully charged me twice for the same order. I was not able to realize what he did until I got home.
The food is good, but the best is the place!
First time visiting yesterday. I had double cheeseburger no bun, chips, coke with ice. All the add ons were on the side to add yourself. Such a hidden gem. Decor fabulous, food amazing! 5 stars all day!!
Burgers are decent....But, I feel like I'm walking more into a bar than a burger joint. And FYI if you go be sure to get condiments from the right of the cash register. Because, I learned the hard way condiments don't come on the food.
I’m so glad we finally came here. The cheezborger was delicious! It has a great dive bar feel to it, and it wasn’t too busy either. They also have their own beers on draft! Any person visiting this city should come here.
