Barry foods, deli, butcher shop is one of the best food store to shop. They have incredible Italian subs, meatball sandwiches, Italian sausage, Italian beef, a huge assortment of olives, cheese, and Italian sausage from the butcher is the best in Chicago.

This place is just new to me, few of my close friends recently recommend this to me. That is why I gave it a shot as soon as I got nearby of its location. They were absolutely correct, as the sandwiches are a wonderful treat. I really enjoy the flavor of it, and it lives up to all of my expectations. The crumb of the bread is soft, while the crust is thin and crispy. All of the ingredients, including the meats, cheeses, lettuce, and tomatoes, have been sliced very freshly and maintain their flavor. In addition, the price is surprisingly low for such a mouthwatering dish as this one. Unquestionably deserving of a shot. There is no doubt in my mind that I will return to this place, and the next time I do, I will bring along my love one cause they will surely love this place too. Highly recommended.

My friend invites me to eat here because, apparently, this is her favorite place to buy sandwiches. I am more than thankful because I just finished up one of the best Italian subs I have ever had. The bread has a thin, crispy crust and a soft crumb. The meats and cheeses, lettuce, and tomatoes are both flavorful and freshly sliced. And for a delicious meal like this one, the price is surprisingly low. It's no wonder the small place is always packed with customers and why my friend loves this place. Also, the service is great, so you'll never have a chance to say any negative comments. Of course, it's not only the subs that they're selling here. As a grocery store, the selection is enormous, and you will be able to prepare an authentic Italian lunch while shopping here. You should certainly pay a visit to this location; it will be well worth your time.

Bari deli and grocery store is a 10 star experience. Their sandwiches are undoubtedly the best in the whole city. I've been eating here for all of 20 years. Every sandwich on the menu is amazing

I have been going here since the mid 90s awesome sandwiches. The back counter girl may be the rudest person I have ever met. Not just to me everyone. My problem is the last handful of times I have placed an order via the unfriendly order taker in back can’t get the orders right or then again it could be the sand which makers. Maybe hey don’t read english. Then she wants to argue about it. The first few times I let it go. Today I called as I have had it.I know the don’t care as they are busy and will continue to be busy but they have lost a 30 plus year customer. I will never stop foot in that place again and when asked from all the transplants is bari’s good I will tell them safe bet is to goto damaotes which is right next door and 100000x better. Over priced sandwiches that they can’t make properly. I’m sick of it.

When he was playing for the Chicago Cubs, first baseman Anthony Rizzo's favorite lunch spot was Bari Subs in Chicago's West Town neighborhood. When he moved his address to Yankee Stadium in New York, he still retained his ties to Bari Subs. During the Yankees' recent four-game series with the White Sox at Guarantee Rate Field, Rizzo found time to sample Bari's traditional Italian sub. Located at 1120 West Grand Avenue, at May, east of Ogden Avenue, adjacent to D'Amato's Bakery, Bari Subs is open from 8 to 6 Monday through Saturday and 8 to 2 on Sunday. Established by the Pedota family in 1973, it is a compact Italian deli and grocery serving sandwiches, salads, soups and sides. Dine-in or takeout or delivery. Enjoy the best subs in the city and the best of imported Italian cheeses. On our recent visit, my wife and I had bowls of minestrone soup, an Italian sub with cappicola, Genoa salami, mortadella and provolone with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mayo, an American sub with ham, salami, veal bologna and American cheese and sides of coleslaw and macaroni salad. The list of subs also includes Italian tuna salad with Bari's own recipe, smoked turkey and cheese, corned beef and cheese, Italian beef, meatball and Italian sausage. If you're in a mood for a salad, choose either garden, antipasto or chicken. Other sides include pasta salad, fruit cup, potato salad and Italian tuna salad. If it's good enough for Anthony Rizzo, it's good enough for us.

A great place for true Italian subs and groceries friendly service. If looking for unique Italian items this is the place

One of the best places in the city of Chicago to get a submarine sandwich. If you are in need to italian food products to purchase. You will not be disappointed.

Small Italian grocery makes the best subs on Grand Ave. Which means the best in town. Decent deli meats and cheeses selection (and they’ll make up a tray for your next party), and a small meat counter where you can get steaks, pork chops, house-made Italian and Barese sausages, and the quintessential Nona ingredient: pork neck bones, for your next batch of Sunday gravy. Long rack of pasta, good freezer case, a few fresh vegetables, and the Grand Ave dinner special: homemade sauces, beef, and soups.

The tomato focaccia Italian sandwich is unreal and MASSIVE—takes up an entire plate. The meatball sub is also a favorite.
