An enjoyable Thursday evening dining Al Fresco. Like always, service and food was perfect. Started out with a bottle of Retsina. Starters were Taramosalata and Poseidon Salad which is definitely shareable, plus the octopus was perfectly cooked. We both ordered the Kokonisto Lamb Shank which a good portion with rice and potato, but could have used a bit mor tomato sauce. One of our go to spots for Greek food up on the north side.
This place is unlawfully running their restaurant. They serve hookah with food. I was kicked out after confronting the owner as my wife was pregnant and couldn't enjoy her meal due to the smoke of cigarettes and hookah. The law in Chicago specifically prohibits the use of tobacco with food and alcohol licenses. The use of tobacco also must be located in a freestanding building occupied solely by the business. This is concerning considering there are apartments right above the establishment and it is not a freestanding building. This is truly concerning for children, pregnant women, and others with illnesses who are forced to inhale the smoke. I would like BBB to investigate and take the right actions that align with the Chicago law of tobacco use in establishments.Please avoid as there are so many beautiful clean places where you can enjoy your meal. Kitchen is not clean since they serve and prepare food in the same spot where they make hookah.I wish there was a 0 star because this place doesn’t deserve a 1 star! I really don’t know how this place has some 5 stars
My first time at the place . I ordered a plate of grape leaves and feta with olives. I asked them to warm up the grape leaves a bit and the kitchen refused. I asked why not and was told the answer is no, we don’t do that. Needless to say I won’t return . I’ll eat my Greek where the my care about the customer service and not full-filling their huge egos with a power trip . ( I sent the ice cold grape leaves back )
We had a good time here on Saturday night till 3am! The music was too loud, not delicious food just ok, hookah was good, good customer service, not professional dancer, kinda overpriced!
Excellent food, fantastic presentation. Very fresh food, sea bass is the entire sea bass! Very good lamb, great deserts. Really reasonably priced. Great go to Greek in North Center.
Good food, not good service and no greek music this Saturday but middle eastern.
Incredibly disappointing. Got carry out. Waited more then an hour and a half, Missing items, food was ice cold, very very rude cashier/phone person and lied when the driver left (i spoke to the driver myself) Im sure it would taste better in the restaurant. Management needs to train their employees in customer service. Especially when it wasn’t OUR fault you guys totally screwed up. Had to go through grubhub to get a refund. What a disappointing Sunday dinner.
I am a Greek guy and I was living in Greece for my whole life. I live in chicago the last 4 years and I have never eaten so delicious food. his greek salad his lamb chops his spicy potatoes are all from a different planet!!! I highly recommend this restaurant !
The lamb chops were delicious. A friend recommended lamb chops and they exceeded my expectations. The village salad with tomatoes and cucumbers complemented our meal. If you like greek food, treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience.
As a Greek-American I'm always seeking out and trying local places to find the food I love. I had high hopes for this place, the renovations are beautiful and I'll bet they have great bands on the little stage in the evenings but I was there for lunch. That being said, the food was a little disappointing, the octopus was tough and rubbery, the pastitsio didn't taste right and my friend had a steak which gave him an upset stomach and diarrhea later. I really want to like this place and maybe if I went just for drinks and appetizers one night it would be a better experience but what I came away with after this lunch prevents me from giving it a higher score.
