I have tried about every Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago and I must say Awash takes the cake. The food was very taseful and authentic Ethiopian cuisine the service was top tier and the place inside is well kept. I will definitely be back 10/10 experience

This restaurant is using a fake receipt to charge every customer 20% more of whatever you ordered. The first receipt is just to show you the price and they came back with a different receipt. If you ask them to get both receipts, they won't give you the first one. Please check your orders and ask questions before you pay and make sure you report them to the authority. Beware they'll trick you in to 40% extra charge.
This place is amazing! The service was on point and Merci is soo sweet. The food is beyond amazing, and Merci gave us tea after our food on the house. Highly recommend this place. Also perfect for vegans too
I’ve had Ethiopian food in multiple restaurants in New York, Washington DC, Florida, New Orleans and many more. I always was in an impression that Ethiopian food can never go wrong. But here my experience was just disappointing. Probably it was just that day. The injera was so cold, dry and undercooked. The different curries weren’t fresh, one of them smelled stale. Overall had a very unpleasant experience. For the first time I actually wasted Ethiopian food as I was just not able to eat it.
It’s a very nice place, food has a lot of flavor and the service is excellent. It’s a must go restaurant for the experience.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Awash Ethiopian restaurant.The food is excellent, and the service is just as good .Is my new favorite Ethiopian restaurant, I highly recommend it.The host and the owner, Mersy was very good and very hospitable to us.

Great experience all around. Service was excellent - warm hospitality. Food is delicious. Have the coffee served with incense to refresh your soul to close out the meal.
