One of the best restaurants I’ve been in town. The food is so full of flavors. Their watermelon salad is to die for.I also loved their cucumber martini. Will definitely be back!

Good vibes and great outdoors sitting for summers. Tried the spinach pie and was worth the moneyReally hospitable staff! Would definitely come back for a relaxed dining

This place is wonderful! My boyfriend was craving greek food, so as one does we googled Greek food near by, and we came across this place. The staff was great and the restaurant itself was beautiful, the outdoor seating has flowers just like in Greece. THE FOOD!!! was delicious. I kept thinking it was just going to be okay from the 4.3 star review it has on google but it definitely deserves a higher rating then that. We had the chicken souvlaki, lamb burger, greek salad, watermelon margarita, frozen lemonade both regular and strawberry and everything was amazing!!! Will definitely be going back (hopefully soon!!)

What a treat Avli was. We were on the hunt for a nice dinner after a day of biking around the city. We spent happy hour at The Broken Shaker, but I think this place would have been just as good. The Greek salad was fresh and very refreshing. Chicken Souvlaki was excellent, the basmati rice with just a hint of lemon was really delicious. Gyros were excellent, the tzatziki was sweet and tart at the same time. Soutzoukakia (meatballs) were great as an entree, the sauce was perfectly matched.

The ambience is lovely especially on a good weather day.The food is pricey and although satisfactory, it didn't leave a great impression. If you don't like heavily spiced food and want a lovely ambience, this is the spot for you.

Tiropitakia with honey: i expected the phyllo to be crispier and the cheese to be hotter and saltier. I didn’t taste any honey.Shrimp souvlaki: great. Hot and flavorful with the smell from the grill.Chicken and potatoes: small round potatoes were very good. Soft texture and smoky flavor. Chicken was good. Lemony and moist enough.Portokalopita: very good. Where do you find orange cake? Here. : ). Flavor is just a bit subtle. Not overwhelming. The right amount.Ice cream baklava was very good. Let it warm a bit so it’s smoother in your mouth and not too cold.Cold a bit in the outdoor seating (April).

Rating it at 3.5 - rating could be different for dinner at this location.I came here during Restaurant Week, so the prices were much more ideal. This is a place I’d only come for a special occasion. Though probably not at the River North location. For lunch restaurant week menu, a chicken bowl, hummus spread, and halva dessert was only a total of $25. Normally a chicken bowl is $16 - bowl was good, but not worth $16. Needed sauce. Hummus was good - but would probably go elsewhere for hummus. The halva dessert was nicely made and unique - though I wouldn’t order it again. The Greek coffee was so good - I’d come back just for the coffee.I came with someone else - he got the shrimp bowl. Shrimp was well cooked and seasoned. Not sure if the quinoa fit with the meal, I’d probably replace it with rice or couscous. The quinoa was slightly soggy. We both agreed that the chicken bowl was better. We also ordered a small plate of Saganaki - the fig in it made the Saganaki really good.We were seated at the back corner - not ideal. Lights were dim during lunch in the back. I think my experience would’ve been better if we weren’t seated all the way in the back. Otherwise, service was good, very attentive. For these prices, I’d prefer to go to the Avli on the Park location since the interior is bigger and better. I’ll try dinner next time.

Tried this location and Lake Shore location, I liked the drinks and selection at this location better. Lake shore location has a more fancy interior feel.

Friends and I popped in for a quick drink on Saturday. We had probably the most fun of the night in the half hour we were saddled up at the bar. The bartender (I’m looking at you, Spiros!) was phenomenal and recommended the best dry white (Gavalas Santorini), and introduced us to Ouzo. If you like black licorice, it’s really smooth. We will be back to spend more time and actually give the good menu a try. I know we won’t be disappointed.

Went for brunch. The weather was so nice that they let us sit outside! Everything was very tasty and portions were large. Feta came with only 8 pieces of pita for a huge scoop, and they charged extra when we asked for more. A bit stingy for their already kind of high prices. But food was good, so not too bad.
