Peruvian restaurants are scarce in the city of Chicago. I was very pleased to find this restaurant, and my experience there today was more than extraordinary.By the expert and kind recommendation of my waitress, Flavia, I had the ceviche carretillero. It's a ceviche but with added fried calamari, corn and sweet potato. The ceviche was absolutely perfect, very well marinated in a lemon sauce, tender, juicy, and just delicious. The calamari was also very well done, tender, perfectly cooked, and just right. The service was very attentive, and the recommendation spot on. The restaurant is fairly new. I believe they've been in business at this location for less than a couple of years now The decoration is well curated, the bathroom super clean, and the experience highly pleasant. They do not have an alcohol license, but I am told this is because they want to attract customers of all ages.I'd say if you've never tried cevice, or you are craving for authentic quality ceviche done with craftsmanship and love, look no further, Avenida Peru is the place to go!

Ended up eating here because La costa (restaurant) next store had a long wait. The waitress barely greeted my girlfriend and I when we walked in. They took almost 25 minutes to bring out the food! I ordered a chicken dish that came with rich, fries and side of bad tasting salad. It honestly looked like they cooked the chicken and fries in an air fryer. To top it off the waitress forgot about us and I had to get up and pay the bill. The waitress was just chit chatting in the back with other employees. Overall bad food and service. Highly disappointed because I like to support small businesses but not the ones who don’t value new customers.

Delicious traditional entrees with nice presentations and big portions, considering the prices. Service is also great - they were happy to provide us with recommendations. Although it’s a small location, the interior decor is very welcoming. They do have a bar - I’d recommend they create a drinks menu. Parking is free across the street.

I tried this place for the first time and I’m amazed! I ordered their ceviche mixto and it was fantastic.Excellent service, everyone was so kind and friendly. Place is small but has a beautiful and cozy vibe. Can’t wait to go back and tried their other dishes.

Friendly service and amazing food! Loved the ceviche. Can't wait to come back.

Absolutely delicious, ordered for take out and was completely taken by surprise. I ordered the the tallarin a la huancaina(my favorite dish that many places don’t make), fries, and fried calamari. All super delicious, I’ve never gotten to dine in but already planning my next meal. I called in to double check an item on the menu and they were really nice. I’m looking forward to stopping in to try it in person soon.

Nice place, service and ample parking across the street

Was my first time and food was amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻The owners are very nice and professional. We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day and the restaurant look very cute . We order the Valentines menu and was delicious. I highly recommend 😋😋😋😋

I had a good experience here. The food was delicious!

First time trying Peruvian food and this place met my expectations of this amazing cuisine! One of my friend's recommended this place to me. She said that the place reminded here of how food was made at her grandma's home back in Peru, with that description in mind, I definitely had to give it a try! Food was really good, portions are big, and the staff is really nice and open to give any recommendations.
