OMG it was so delicious! Service was great, I highly recommend.
Avec is my longtime favorite restaurant in a Chicago. I recently moved away after 15 years and had to come back for dinner while I’m in town. It’s always delicious. Tonight, the hummus with short ribs was full of flavor (and not too heavy on a warm summer night). The pita bread is heavenly. The affogato with coconut gelato and a chocolate cookie was a perfect sweet ending. The staff is fantastic. (Thank you, Damien and Pablo, for making my night. Some of the staff has been there for 10+ years, which says a lot about the place.) The wine list is full of interesting options; ask for recommendations if you want to be adventurous. Also, Avec is also always fun. Whenever I’ve been there, I’ve ended up meeting neighboring diners and sharing food…even sitting outside tonight. I love Avec and will be back whenever I’m in Chicago!
Would give it 6 stars if I could.A flawless experience with exceptional food, impeccable service, and great vibe in a great space.Food was really some of the best I’ve had - it is remarkably difficult to put together dishes with such elegance, flavour and complexity in a way that seems so effortless and makes the food seem so approachable.Shout out to Damien for taking care of us so nicely.
Avec was an amazing experience. We loved our waitress as well as Steven. The food was amazing. Everything really hit the spot. The chorizo stuffed dates were insane. The oysters were absolutely delightful. We loved the prawns. The sauce was to die for. And the take of the Persian lamb dish was also great. We somehow forgot to take a photo of the oysters but they were stunning. All the people who worked there were so nice and really made the experience that much more enjoyable!
There were 4 of us and we shared small throughout the evening. We started at the bar with exceptional cocktails and an order of the chorizo stuffed dates which were very tasty. We then shared several small plates including Chicken Liver Crostini, Yellowfin Tuna Tartare, Roasted Delicata Squash, Roasted Sturgeon and Braised Cabbage. For dessert, the refreshing gelato was perfect!! An excellent meal and we will be back!

We had a dinner date in Avec, the food was fantastic! Love the service as well, Tim is very nice guy! Braised lamb hummus and the market fish are highly recommended!!

It's been a long time since I've been to avec so it was wonderful getting to go again this month. The food is as delicious as ever and I really love the atmosphere of the space. The service is wonderful too.I adore their hummus & pita, and they served us a mushroom flatbread that was divine. Everyone loves the bacon wrapped dates but they are a bit spicy for me. Still, I don't think you can miss trying them if you come. Drinks were lovely too.
Been to Avec for dinner but first time for brunch. So happy to give it a try. Their brunch food was delicious! It was nice that they also had some half portions on certain items so we ordered a variety of food. The service was also fantastic. We sat at the counter and had the best conversation with the host and our server. Can’t wait to go back again!
