My family and I visited while on a trip to Chicago and had a great experience. I have Celiac Disease and they were knowledgeable and had several options marked on the menu. I am always a little afraid I will get glutened when I eat out, but they even had tamari available and were sure to let know items that other members of my party ordered were unsafe. I was hopeful there would be more traditional Hawaiian dishes I could enjoy, but the Vietnamese dish I had was very good. The menu was extensive and encompassed many various foods you encounter in Hawaii. My kids especially loved their sushi and hubby said the pork belly tacos were delicious. It was a fun throwback to some he had on our honeymoon on O'ahu. The portion sizes were large, presentation was lovely, and prices were reasonable. The food and ambiance, coupled with friendliness of the staff make this an awesome little gem. As a bonus it was a short walk from popular hotels families stay at for museum trips and the metro was nearby. We will definitely visit next time we are up!

This is such a great restaurant with a variety of food. We walked here from the aquarium for lunch. This is a Hawaii themed restaurant with colors, surf boards. Their shot glasses are so cool with star wars glasses, golden girls and marvel characters. We got a lychee martini with a beautiful orchid, frozen mango colada. We enjoyed the panang curry absolutely delicious and tsunami roll. We liked the bbq ribs, thai chicken. It was a great meal all around.

Waiting time was long, but that’s still acceptable. That don’t take reservations. Food was a little disappointing, however. The mee goreng and nasi goreng (shown in pic) were fine, but the spicy tofu ramen was bad. Instead of broth, it is essentially the same base for the above-mentioned items but in soup form, except it’s not soup but more like a bowl of noodles soaked in oil. Maybe try something else, if you’re going there!

AO Hawaiian Hideout is a very strongly thematic Hawaiian restaurant. It really isn't as much Hawaiian entrees as much as I would say Japanese and other Asian inspired cuisine. The Spam Musubi was delicious and tasted really slight sweetness from the rice and salty ness from the Spam taste great together, poke was on point and delicious. The Dish I came for, the main dish, was the loco Moco. Having recently been to the rainbow diner in Hawaii I can compare the two dishes. Hawaii native loco Moco tastes a lot fresher and a much different grind of cow meat in the patty and the gravy was a lot smoother.

Food was delicious, staff very friendly, amazing, affordable, numerous gluten free options, can't wait to go back!!!

This place was so good, we came here twice during our trip for dinner. Their menu has a large variety, from sushi to ramen to fried rice. Their drink menu is also very wide and they sell the cups the drinks are brought in! The service was also very attentive, though it states it can be a little slow since they’re short on staff. The experience was great and the food delicious!

The food, atmosphere, location, and service are all great. I had the mie goreng (spicy!) and it was delicious. Their coffee is also very good. The only tiny down side in that the portions are huge! I've never been unable to finish a dish I enjoyed and I feel bad wasting food. But of course this isn't a real issue for most people. 10/10

Hidden gem with great brunch drinks and food. The Tikki decorations and vibe were so cute. Drinks with orchids were beautiful. Poke bowls were awesome and they had great vegetarian options too. Very wide ranging menu from Chinese, Thai, Sushi, Hawaiian. Sign apologized for slow service due to lack of staff during covid downturn. We definitely be back!

Service very slow, and then the food turned out to be disappointing. Ordered vegetarian mee goreng, then showed on receipt as vegan no egg ramen stir fry. Didn't taste very interesting, didn't finish my plate.

New favorite restaurant! Affordable, beautiful, tasty, i could go on & on & on. My boyfriend got the loco moco plate & I got the pad Thai, which were A+. I also got the Grogu mug, filled with their island punch. Their cocktails are great, decor is fab, service is stellar, & live music is always a treat. Plus, their prices are great! I will be back. :)
