Awesome experience! I live in Arizona now so anytime I visit Chicago it’s a must that I stop at Al’s. The food is a bit pricy but the quality and taste ease the pain. The fries are also worth mentioning. They were cooked just the way I like them. The staff at the register was respectful and charismatic.
Stopped by here for a quick bite, had a polish sausage and Italian beef. Very good. Got the combos. Staff was very friendly and food was really good. Would recommend if you are in the area.
O.M.G!!!! The best thing I ate in Chicago! I had never tried Italian Beef - hands down, it is the thing to eat in Chicago. I feel so lucky that Al's was my first ?. If you are going to Wrigley, stop here to get Italian Beef to go - it's better than any food in the park. We ordered it dipped ? delish! It was so good we're changing our lunch plans to get takeout tomorrow from the location close to the Loop. This sandwich might not change your life, but then again, it just might.
I love this place…but…today, the gentleman that took our orders was a rude, sad man. I’m not going to stop coming here after years because of him, but newcomers will feel like garbage after this sad, short, condescending little fella takes their order. He also looked like he had whopper jr hands. At one of my first jobs I had to serve people sandwiches as well but I was much more polite and was only 16. He is a grown man, most likely paying his rent doing this and I actually just feel bad for him at this point.
Friendly atmosphere, great fries, and of COURSE above all the amazing Italian beef sandwich dunked is a must try! Saw from the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show and it was a good call!
This is a shout out to the guys working Tuesday night, 4/26/22 at 11pm. I came in with a request to pack 3 large Italian beefs with all the ingredients completely separated for easy travel and they were so awesome and went out of their way to do a good job. I explained to the guy at the register that I moved away from Chicago a year ago and was planning to drive back to Texas with these sandwiches for my husband. Before leaving Chicago, Al's Beef was our favorite Sunday night dinner and we miss Al's so much. The food was perfectly packed and last night we enjoyed our favorite Chicago meal in Texas! You guys are the best!
Great hot beef! Owner works in the store keeping the standards high, fries were absolute fire! Family owned buisness with the family vibes. A true Chicago Resturant!
Came here with friends for a late night snack. The manager, Jay took our order. He was really nice and patient. We all ordered Italian Beefs with fries. I always get a side of melted cheese to dip my beef in. Everything was delicious and a great portion of beef. I wish I had gotten two.
I ordered some food for takeout. It's nice that they have quick service. When I opened it, it was messy. The sauce went to packaging and in the bun. Also the beef gets messy. When I tasted it, the beef was tasteless. You can't taste any salt on it. I thought they had great food since many of them went to their store. But I'm thinking that maybe some of their food on their menu was very delicious. Maybe some other time I will try their other food and I hope I will be satisfied with their food. Can't wait to come here again.
Good hamburger meat but my order is messed up pretty bad definitely every time I go in here. The seasoned sandwich beef is a little too “extra” for me. Fries are bland. This place is definitely hit or miss and so is the service.
