The food was good, but the the service was bad. I ordered a turkey leg and I was given a turkey wing drum instead. The cashier claimed the owner was out and insisted it was a turkey leg when there is a huge difference between the two. This outright lie and misrepresentation of what they are selling is unacceptable. IF you did not HAVE TURKEY LEGS THEN JUST STATE IT UP-FRONT! ? SMH!! I have dined in several times before with no issues. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. (greens are never good, will not order again after trying several times) Poor customer service is a biggie for me hence the 2 star rating. Especially when you act like people are dumb for NO REASON? I will never understand businesses that operate this way. I try to support neighborhood businesses and unfortunately I find UNNECESSARY DRAMA too many times and for no reason, like in this instance. ? So very sad and deep ?
I loved the food which was salad, String beans, muffins, baked chicken, cabbage, red beans & rice & fried chicken. I was there for a party & the room was a nice size with maybe 50 people in attendance. We had open bar until we reached a certain dollar amount. We had a DJ for music & we were there from 8-12 Midnight. It's in a nice location on North Ave not far from Harlem.
Food was excellent. The young lady that waited on me was great.
This establishment really doesn’t deserve a rating at all, but it’s the only way I could write this deserving review:First and Foremost, I go out of my way to SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES, therefore; I’m writing with hope that this is viewed as “Constructive Criticism”. I was treated well when I was there picking up carry out, and liked what I saw, as I looked around. Problem came when I got home, tried my food, tried calling to convey my concerns, and KEPT GETTING HUNG UP ON! THERE GOES “BUSINESS”!FLAVORLESS GREENS WERE FLOATING IN GREASE!!!
Went here 3-25-22 for my wife's uncle 70th all their food was soo good the greens,the baked Mac and cheese was top notch and the candied yams soo good I think I liked the bar tender the most they didn't skimp on the drinks AT ALL!! beautiful atmosphere I'm gonna find the time to go back definitely.
Getting our dinner was very slow this time. Seems as if they were working faster & more attentive to the take out orders. It was only 3 tables dinning in that included us. The food was delicious, but it took to long to get to the table.
Of the 4 meals my son ordered the smothered pork chop was the best and very tasty. Baked chicken was tasty.The fried fish was ok, but not quite up to the caliber I'm use to getting from there.Otherwise my order was good...Sol....
?It was a wonderful experience, just not a restaurant for me though. The soul food came off as 'healthy' bc of the lack of seasoning and dry sides. Nothing wrong w/a healthy option, wasn't what I was hoping for taste wise❗
