If your in town bright and early and are looking to get some good breakfast, this is the place. This little old fashioned diner has limited seating, but is very fast, so customers are in and out rather quickly. You can dine in our carry out any time of day or night. We had breakfast today and it was amazing. The waitress kept my coffee full and knew many of the patrons by name as they came in to eat. I will definitely come here again.
Traditional 24 hr diner. Very popular with the college crowd (near UIUC). The service was great, fast and cheerful and the food was delicious with just the right amount for the price. It was late when we went but almost every table was filled and there was a steady stream of customers in and out. They obviously knew what they were doing because this place ran like a well oiled machine and everyone was smiling and personable. I will definitely go back!

Very hospitable and friendly service, especially the waitress. Great quantity for the price, love the country fried steak, it was juicy and crispy! Love that it is there for night dwellers.
I spent majority of my day driving and being with my dog at the local Vet, so I searched for somewhere close to eat. When I got inside Merry Ann's, I was greeted right away. I went up to the counter to let the man know I have never been there before and I was not sure to seat myself. He was very polite and told me to pick a seat and came over quickly. As many of the other reviews say, there were only a few workers. But the service was very quick. The atmosphere felt homey and comfortable, I felt I was at a family members house grabbing lunch. I ordered a number one and substituted the toast for French toast, the portions were decently sized. Overall, the food was 10/10, service was 10/10. If I am ever back out that way, I will make the stop again!
This is a fantastic little diner. Staff is spectacular and upbeat. Food was delicious and very speedy.The steak sandwich was super high quality, went very well with the mint chocolate chip milkshake.
This is the first waffle house I have ever been to. I went here with my friends and it was quick and the food was good. The handicap parking spot is right in front of the door, so it made the disabled people look stupid when their car was right in front of the door. I got a waffle and french fries, they were both really good.
When my son was going to college at U of I, we went to Merry Ann's 4 out of the seven days we were there. Epic diner. Love the food and will always remember.
Hole in the wall place. Definitely a gem right outside campus. Prices for breakfast are really good. Expect it to be busy if you are trying to go on a football Saturday, but it usually won't get busy for basketball. Illini athletes visit this place a decent amount too!
Courteous service. Food was very good and was served very quickly. Stopped in for lunch as we were traveling and looking for a restaurant that served breakfast.
