Food was good BUT, the manager who was waiting on the food at the front pulled out nail clippers and started clipping her nails right by the food and drinks!! Absolutely disguesting. The other employee who was making our drinks was practically wiping and picking her nose before touching our cups. I usually have good experiences here but this is disguesting.
We have been going to McAlister's Deli in Champaign for several years; however, on 2/27/22 we left before ordering when we noticed the evening manager busing tables bare handed then going to the window and picking up plates bare handed without every washing his hands. We mentioned it to the staff and they said they have been telling him that was not sanitary and against safety codes; however, evidently that didn't make any difference. Don't know when we'll go back, if ever. It's a shame since they have a lot desirable entrees.
This is a great place to eat lunch and study. The services was great. You could tell the young cashier was getting stressed by the long line during the lunch rush but all the other staff members were very kind and helpful. The older gentleman so absolutely amazing. I got the pecanberry salad. This salad was delicious and all the toping were spread evenly ove the top.
More food than I could handle and i got 1/2 sandwiche and 1/2 spud which is larger than Texas.

I would love to visit here again someday. I know that it was beyond out of the way when we were making the trip up to Champaign, but this place was a gem to visit with their quality and selection. If I ever get a chance to come back down here, I plan to come again and hope anyone nearby does as well.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Food was value priced and good. Will definately stop again and try more menu options.
I went to McAlisters Deli in Effingham,il. Me and 4 other people, we went through the drive thru and I placed the order. The woman read back my order and I made sure to ask if the first meal was ordered, she said yes and then we went up to pay. Then proceeded to wait 20 mins for our order to come. Once they brought it I soon realized that I didn't get my order so I checked the receipt and they didn't put my order on the ticket. So I went inside and found someone who looked like a manager and explained the problem. She rang me up and I stood and waited for my food for 15 mins. It was a turkey/ham sandwich. One of the people in my group came inside and said they were done eating. Finally the manager noticed our conversation and my face and yelled back to put a rush on the sandwich. The kitchen staff was repeatedly standing around and making the wait times longer then necessary. I emailed the corporate and they said to bring in my email for a few meal. I told them I didn't live in the area and they said they. Old give me a gift card to make up for the issue. It's been well over a month and I emailed them twice more and have no gift card. Great customer service from the building to the corporate office......
Excellent food but unfortunately they need help cleaning tables..If you need a job. There you go!!
