Eat at Las Palmas frequently. Service is top notch. Plenty of room to be seated regardless how busy they are. Food is authentic and par excellence. Quantity vs. price is way better than most restaurants. Time from order to being served is amazingly quick. Ordered items have always been spot on.PS: Some people should never eat out. They are too picky and complain about small things...but think the food at McDonalds is greater than sliced bread.
Being Hispanic myself, I am extremely offended at the absolute audacity of this place to call their food "Mexican"!! The food is so bland, it tasted like a white person made it. Like seriously there was absolutely no seasoning on anything we ordered. The only thing that had even a slight kick to it was a small container of sauce that came with one of the meals. I'm guessing their reviews are so good, and their star count is so high because the only people eating or ordering their food are people who don't know how to use spices correctly. Also I wanna point out that the portion sizes are absolutely not on par with their price point. Everything is way overpriced for the portion size and mediocre quality that you end up with. Would definitely NOT recommend to anyone else, ever!
I’ll try to keep it short. 1.) I felt like our waiter wanted us in and out, very rushed to order when it’s a new restaurant so we weren’t sure what we’d want.?. 2.) my enchiladas were horrible, they had molè on them but it was obviously burnt , the sauce was bitter! My set mom is Mexican so I know my molé. Everything else was BLAND 3.) my receipt was a list of numbers , as if I was doing grade 3 math. No break down , just a list of numbers. I found that to be concerning especially since I was asked to tip after they added on an $11.00 tip?. I’ll keep going to dos reales on prospect or burrito king. Disappointed ??♀️
We were drinking margarita and looking at the menu to decide on the food, but the waiter kept coming literally every one minute to ask if we are ready to order, and the restaurant was not even busy! Finally, I ordered steak mexicano and wanted it to be medium, but it was well done in the best case! When I told the waiter that I asked for medium steak, he looked into my eyes and said this is medium! As if i have never eaten or seen medium steak! It was a piece of brown chewy meat which I could not eat. Not a pleasant experience at all!
We were excited to try this restaurant. The place looks nice but it was very crowded and people were loud during our visit. Food was good but they put cheese on the beans when I had asked for no cheese and in one shrimp I found the part that needs to be cleaned out, the intestine. My husband got enchiladas and tacos and I got shrimp with peppers mushrooms and onions. Some onions were burnt. Waiters were very nice. We liked the fact that they all were wearing masks
First time eating here. I was disappointed. The beans were runny and the guacamole was flavorless. The chip were good but the salsa was so so. They did give you an ample amount of shrimp in the enchiladas. The beer was cold. I wouldn’t recommend this place for good Mexican food.
This Las Palmas Mexican grill in front of Menards in Champaign is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Champaign-Urbana. The restaurant is large, very nice, clean and the servers are attentive and the food comes out quickly. If I could give it six stars, I would. It's my new go to for Mexican!!
Stopped in for a meal on a Monday evening. The place was decently busy. Chips and Salsa were great, along with the queso. Our meal’s were good but left for a little bit more to be desired. I think it is still worth the stop!
First time coming here. The food was pretty good. Customer service was good too
