Great food great service nice visit with the chef. Always pleased
This was our first visit to Hamilton Walker's and we were quite impressed. The service and the food topped our list!
Delicious food, outstanding, friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. And within walking distance to the Virginia Theatre where we were seeing a concert. Free parking nearby in the evening, too. It was all wonderful.
The only downside to Hamilton Walker's is the price, but I don't consider it overpriced for the quality of the food in a sort of post COVID world. Everything is cooked/prepared/served perfectly-- the salad expertly dressed, the bread (oh, the brad!) warm and inviting with that delicious butter. I had the prime rib and french fries, the prime rib herby and seasoned, with the jus and horseradish cream, just perfect. The french fries, large steak ones, crispy and salty and not a bit greasy, tasting like the most delicious potatoes ever. I did not try my friends' food-- the appetizer lamb chops, the burger, and the salmon, but they nicely subbed the corn side with mashed potatoes and fixed the mistake (vegetables) on the burger quickly. I enjoyed the quietness of the restaurant-- although plenty of people were there, even on the early side (5:30)-- I like to converse when out to dinner, not listen to music blasting through the speakers. Yeah, I'm a boomer, so what? Go here, it's a local treasure and the wait staff are always kind, friendly, and the young man in training was funny and engaging. I also enjoy -- I don't know his title-- but he mans the host station and checks to see how everything is, in a polite and not intrusive fashion.
The food was great, but the overall highlight was the staff, especially our waiter Tim! Great job The only thing I would say is that your reservation asked if was a special occasion, which it was and I put on the reservation, but it was never mentioned.
Great food, as always, but we were disappointed that they were out of prime rib, one of our favorites. I guess we need to go earlier next time.
My meal was not what I expected but it was my fault for not asking. It was good but not what I would normally order. My wife's steak was great and the sides were huge. The crab cake was outstanding. We plan to return and happy that it is a quality place close to where we live.

The prime rib special is outstanding. Old school preparation with a high tech oven that first sears the roast while protecting a perfect medium rare. The sides are great. The bar and bartender nailed a whiskey smash. You can't miss this gem. Keep up the great work!
Food was good and manager was very nice. . Service was terrible. Servers started cleaning up the table while two other people were still eating their dinner. We asked them to stop cleaning off the table until we finish. They didnât quite get it but after asking three more times they seem to understand. The steaks were great
