Stopped in quickly this morning while passing through town and this coffee shop did not disappoint. I had the Sweet Heat latte at the recommendation of the barista. I’ve had a lot of lattes before but nothing with layers of flavors like this. Enjoyed the decor. Clean and pleasant to look at.
Incredibly rude service, started off condescending and got worse from there. I’ve managed a coffee shop for years in my past so I get how annoying it can be to have people ask basic questions or not understand. But the lady that rang us up just started off rude and wasn’t helpful in guiding people who don’t go to your coffee shop everyday through your menu. I’ve had to explain the difference between an iced coffee and a latte a millions times too, but I did it with patience because I have the empathy to understand that it’s their first time.
I don’t order coffee out often so when I tried asking questions she was abrupt and impatient with me. She was rude to my 81 year old mom about whose orders she was with for pay purposes and she could have been kind and not left of our group of 8 with a negative opinion.
Wow! Maybe the best espresso in Chambana. It contends with cafe paradiso on campus and cafeteria & company in Urbana which are also favorites of mine. The prices were good and the espresso was very good tasting, a good balance of bitterness and fullness that I like. I had gone once before about a year ago and did not enjoy it as much as the taste was much greener and fruity, but I was impressed today.My only complaints are slight. First of all as a student the hours are pretty bad. I understand if that is not their market but I feel like they close too early (especially on Saturday) for me to go as often as I do to campus locations that are open later. I feel like most of the time I am in class until after they are closed and cannot go to them as a study spot like I would like to.My second complaint is there are a few plastic chairs that feel wobbly when sat on. Not a huge deal but also not as good as a normal metal or wood seat.
Awesome coffee place close by. If your there be sure to pick up some of the beans from Page Roasting Co, they’re amazing!
I've known the owner for a long time now and the work he's put into this place for his customers and his employees is beyond what anyone could expect. Also, the coffee is tasty
