We were skeptical at first because I'm picky about my Mexican food. However when we walked in, it smelt amazing so we decided to stay and give it a chance. I was VERY pleasantly suprised. This place was very good. They give you chips and salsa when you first sit down, and the salsa is very flavorful, I loved it. The chips were very crispy and had a medium thickness. In addition we also ordered guacamole and queso dip, and both were good. What I had was not my favorite (chicken taquitos) but my husband and daughter had the eggs and Chorizo and it was absolutely amazing. Would definitely go again and try the fish tacos this time (made with Talapia). They sounded amazing.

Roomy clean restaurant and restroom. Great service. Excellent food.

Always visit when in champaign. Two of their locations most times. Love their food.

In town for business, the only restaurant near by. Directly in front of the Hampton Inn. Located in a up and coming area. The food was delicious the drinks were great. ???

They were able to customize and make Huevos a la Mexicana and it was yummy. The End hot sauce was quite adventurous.

Avocados filled with corn ,cheese ,,cilantro and corn +rice , black beans and cheese.?I liked it ,so got one more to take home for my son

Wonderful service for a large party. Been going to the different locations of El Toro for over 15 years and this one is my new favorite!

El Toro is a quintessential "just ok" Mexican restaurant. The food is decent, and the selection is fair, but you're not particularly getting an amazing deal or having some fantastic food. You'll find all the standard Mexican restaurant staples here, as well as a few more authentic favorites. As mentioned earlier the food is fine, but nothing to write home about. The staff is friendly and happy to help you with the menu, accommodate times you need to make decisions, etc, and one big benefit of the location seems to be that you can more easily reserve for larger parties. Finally, I'll say it's a big deal to find a good Mexican restaurant in the midwest -- with El Toro, you've satisfied part of that trick... but the other part and more important part... It's worth exploring other areas to see if you can find more compelling food and a more interesting experience.

The food and service were great! Big portions. Can’t wait to try some other things off the menu.

Absolutely amazing Mexican Food! Worth the 2+ hours to drive here from Indianapolis! The Pastor Tacos and the quest fundido are awesome! I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Yummmmm
