This is one of our favorite restaurants, and we travel about 50 miles to get there. The food is generally good; my salmon was excellent; however, the grilled chicken on my wife's salad was overcooked. The waitress was excellent- attentive, friendly, good attention to detail. The hostess was simply not friendly... no greeting; simply took us to our booth. Had booked the reservation in advance and advised that it was my wife's birthday. That piece of information was completely ignored. Still overall, we like the place, and we will be back.

Baxters American Grille reminds me of a upscale Ruby Tuesdayâs. I was expecting more from the menu. Appetizer â calamari â canât be it. Main event consisted of a New York strip medium rare, paired with fish & potatoes rounds fired âdryâ would love to see a old school / modern version of the fish and chips , add lemon. The NY strip with roasted garlic herb butter, âsuperior â .
Reserving a table was easy, and our table was ready at the requested time. It was a little cold due to dropping temperatures outside. Thermostat was adjusted quickly and all was well. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, quite helpful, and knew her menu well. She went out of her way to see we were pleased. Salad and main course were served timely, and exactly as ordered. Prices seemed very reasonable considering what we ordered. All in all, we had a wonderful experience!

We dined on a Thursday night, indoors, so the ambience was relatively quiet. On the patio, it looked like fun with a live band. One of us had a steak, which was very good. The other of us had the June feature, which was pork loin with a chutney of habanero and a fruit (I think it was mango). The pork was very dry, which is why the food rating was not higher. The chutney was very good. We had a very very long wait (maybe 10-15 min) just to be seen by the server. The server was apologetic and nice, but then didn't come back for another long time (maybe another 15 min) before taking our drink order. The food took a while to get to us, as well. We had to remind the server that we needed the bill at the end of the meal. I think that the problem was that the restaurant was just really busy and there was not enough staff. The server was quite nice, however. The prices are too high, given the long wait and the dry pork loin.

Seating and service was quick and efficient. We arrived fairly early at 5:30 and were given nice window seating which we enjoyed, without asking for one. The ambiance is great, noise levels very pleasant and the booths with privacy backs a plus. Our server was excellent! Very energetic and friendly, efficient and professional, and with good knowledge of the menu, she really made our experience exceptional. In fact, we asked her for suggestions on our choices and everything we ordered was excellent. The wine and cocktail were very good and served professionally. The salads and main course were very high end and fresh. The entire experience was impressive and gave the feeling of being in a larger city. We would highly recommend your establishment!
