My brother joined a group of friends for the music on Friday night 5/13. The venue is great for music the band was great and the venue was slammed so you needed to have your patience with you which we did.The drinks were good but took some time since they were busy and our waitress was doing her best to keep up with everything. The char steak bites that were shared with the table were awesome, bread for table was warm and delicious since this was our first time we were impressed so far with appetizers. Then we ordered dinner my brother and I ordered the prime rib dinner special with white clamChowder side. The soup took awhile but let me tell you was worth the wait. It was delicious so we were looking forward to the prime rib which is one of our favorites. The entree arrived and looked good on the plate and looking good was about all it had going for it. Both prime rib entrees were cold so they took them back and within a few minutes brought themback Warner. They were okay flavor and seasoning was mediocre. Then when the bill came I noticed we didn’t get the special price. We ordered dinner past the special time yet they gave us a special list to order from..The venue gets a 5 for atmosphere and music. The 3 is for the prime rib entree .Granted they were busy on a Friday night will we go back yes because everyone else in the group bragged about their entrees especially the fried chicken. I will always give a restaurant another chance.
Maybe the problem is we got there around 4:30, but the canned baked beans were tepid, the onion rings on top of the pot roast sliders were cold and the sliders were meh. My son's beef stroganoff was hot and tasted ok. The bread was barely warm. There's also a funky smell to the place. You can't smell food or drinks.I'd normally try it again, but, no. I'll skip it.
Another one of Carol Streams little hidden secrets, Manhattan’s is one for the adults. Sometimes you need a place that has music playing but not over powering, games on in the bar, but you can still hear your dinner or lunch date. The booth backs are high, the wait staff is quick and attentive but not over bearing. They have live music nights, dancing, an outdoor patio, and a cozy bar. The menu is amazing, I highly recommend the chicken scallopini for dinner. For lunch (on their special menu) if it’s available and you like to try unique food, grab the bacon berry grilled cheese (with jalapeños). Parents, I am a mom of 2 elementary aged kids, do the world a favor and save this place for the grown ups (aside from the holidays). They have events for almost all holidays including NYE and Easter. I even took my grandma here as my lunch date for Valentine’s Day. Cheers to another great, yet underrated establishment.
Manhattan's is a place that has a nice atmosphere, nice waiters/waitresses, great food, and on weekends, fine entertainment (with a live band that plays rock & roll classics). It is a restaurant that is perfect if you are celebrating a birthday, getting together with friends, and/or meeting up with someone to discuss business. As for the food choices, my main go-to dish is their hearty pot roast. It is always amazing, juicy, flavorful, and filling. I have also had their mac and shrimp dish as well and that is amazing also.Manhattan's started out as a place my parents liked to go to when they wanted to go to a nice restaurant. Then I started to like going and recently had by Birthday dinner there. That said, every time I've been there, I have had nothing more than a positive experience with them. Try it out for yourself, and I'm sure you'll be find that you will like it too.
This place is absolutely fantastic! Scratch made delivers exceptional food and the drink menu is amazing! My family has visited twice and everyone always wants to go back.
Just had the large Crispy Chicken Salad with the house red wine. (1/2 priced house wine on Mondays). Great as always. We sat in the upper diningroom and it was great to not be rushed and it was quite so we could talk. Stayed a while after our meal was over. The always have special deals on food and liquor.
Food is always fantastic and huge portions, service is always great. Good family atmosphere, and live bands Wednesday Friday and Saturday. Just went in the other day for corned beef and cabbage, was delicious and the corned beef was cooked just right!
They deserve 5 stars, but I had to drop one for the long wait. I showed after 30 min which was the time frame I was given when I ordered. I waited another half hour in the lobby for our take out. It was a Friday night and they were slammed. I forgive them. The food... The stuffed mushroom's are (as they advertise) to die for! The char bites (steak chunks served with chipotle aioli) are the best freaking steak for the price that I have ever had! Note: I am not a steak guy, but I will be back for more.A tip... Manhattan's menu and the quality of food are very similar to Cooper's Corner. However, Cooper's Corner gives you a choice of 4 different varieties of wine. A free bottle with every to go order $30.00 or more!
music was great and so was the cajun catfish and drinks
Food is always excellent. However, when there last week, no one on the staff (servers, bartender, host, etc.) was wearing a mask. It made us a little uncomfortable when our server took our order and delivered our food. With the new variant, I would recommend mask wearing for your employees. Also, when customers were walking through the restaurant, they were not putting their masks on. I get it. Take it off when you are at your table with people you know. Put it on when walking around. Please reconsider your employees wearing masks when near your customers.
