MOD Pizza in Carbondale is an interesting situation. Sort of a Subway does pizza. For one set price you can get any ingredient amount on the pizza you want. Which means if you're hungry, you won't be when you leave. The pizza is a very good quality, while it's not as good as an independent, it's as good as any corporate and better than a lot. I find myself eating there fairly frequently, mostly for the convenience. In and out quickly, freshly baked pizza, fresh ingredients, genuinely a good experience. If you're looking to feed a family on a budget, this might be a good option.
We went here for the first time three weeks ago and have been back three times since. I honestly thought the place wasn't going to be very good. I don't say this often... I was wrong. Who knew the Subway sandwich model adapted to pizza would be so good? I've tried a different pizza each time I've been there and each time I've loved it. You can build your own pizza from scratch, or pick from a selection of pre-designed ones. You can customize your pizza with as many toppings as you want with no additional charge. Pesto, roasted garlic cloves, roasted red peppers are some of my favorites. My wife loves the cauliflower crust and my vegan friend loved the pizza she createdThe staff are always very friendly and helpful and the total wait time from order to finished product is around ten minutes.
Always a great experience! Pizza is always wonderful and staff are either good or outgoing, never bad. The kids enjoy "decorating" their own pizza too!
MOD hits it out of the park once again! Always made my way and fresh, omg I couldn’t ask for a better place to get something handmade and tastes amazing. The ladies this afternoon understood the assignment when I asked for extra mushrooms, extra garlic and extra oregano.
The best pizza outside of Chicago. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Great cheesy bread also.And they have a Caramelized pear tea that is to die for.Their customer service was spot on.

Mod pizza is such a great addition to Carbondale, i have never heard of a pizza place where you can build your own pizza, great selection of toppings very fresh. My sister came to visit and until her to mod she is gluten free and she loved the cauliflower crust.
Me and my girlfriend went here today for Valentine's Day and we will definitely be back. Nice, helpful staff and surprisingly low wait time for our pizzas. The pricing is also very good for essentially unlimited topping. All in all, a five star experience!
