I had the chicken and the catfish. The catfish was unlike any catfish I have ever eaten which makes me believe what I had was not catfish. It reminded me of the fish called swai or under their the imported name from Asia suchi-catfish and no it's not related to American species of catfish zero relations. Now don't get me wrong the fish tasted good but I paid for catfish not some other fish. Just sail the fish under it's common name or move your price up and sell the real deal.

Great food and friendly service! Will definitely hit up this place again when in the Dale. ?

I didn't have my phone but it was very clean and there was a door with super cool painting on it. I wasn't impressed with the cole slaw but let's be clear that is not why we got there lol Gizzards were ON POINT, Chicken with Lemon Pepper probably could have been cooked a tad more for me but it was all very good. I was met by a friendly face who promptly took care of me. I will be back!

Finally got me some Harold's chicken wings. and so delicious. I remember going there visiting my mother in law in Chicago. My ex- husband loved that place and took me. I seen why. Very good.

My wife and I ordered from Harold's tonight for the first time. We ordered the chicken breast and the catfish meals. The catfish was absolutely amazing. It's the best I have ever found in this area and I have looked high and low for great catfish and it just doesn't exist but Harold's offers it. Their food is amazing and is worth giving it a try. This is our new go to place for great food.

Harold's Chicken is great! My husband really likes the chicken wings. Since he liked them so much, I did not get a chance to have some the last time I ordered them. So it is my goal to go back and get some for myself. LOL

LET (clap) ME (clap) SAY (clap) ONE (clap) THING: Harold’s of Carbondale is the business! Y’all…why did this southerner just stumble upon the best chicken wing and catfish spot above the Mason-Dixon Line? I ain’t telling a lie either. On Friday I was on Facebook and happened to come across Harold’s page. I took a look at the menu and decided I might stop by later that evening. I almost went home and ate a half of a cold-cut sandwich from the grocery store I had left in the fridge, but thank goodness my first-mind told me to go by that place Harold’s I saw earlier online. When I entered the brightly painted and very clean lobby of Harold’s of Carbondale, I was greeted with a smiling face behind the counter. I asked a few questions about the menu and was permitted to test the famous mild sauce before ordering. The menu selection is plentiful and includes various chicken and seafood items, as well as sides and desserts. Choosing what I wanted was so difficult, but I ultimately selected the catfish and chicken combo, substituting the french fries for fried mushrooms. Everything is cooked fresh, so I was told the wait would be 15-17 minuets. When I tell you that the wait was so worth it, I am telling the absolute truth! Once prepared, I took my food to my car and decided to take a little taste of the mushrooms. First of all, the portions are huge! I almost made myself sick from eating over half the mushrooms too quickly. That’s just how good they were. They were delicious, juicy, hot, crispy, and did I say delicious? I was so full from fried mushrooms that I didn’t have room for anything else. You know I had to “check” the food before I drove off though. Y’all, I opened the bag with the catfish and wings and my mind was BLOWN! They give you THREE (3) whole catfish fillets and THREE (3) whole chicken wings in addition to bread, slaw, and fries (or mushrooms in my case). As full as I was, y’all know I pinched a piece of that catfish off to try it. It was BANGING! Harold’s knows how to cook some southern tasting food! I got out my car and went back into the store to let them know I appreciated them. I had to. Food this good deserves to be shown appreciation. When I was waiting for my food, I learned from the woman who took my order that Harold’s is a black-owned, family-owned restaurant. This particular location is the 29th store owned by the founder’s daughter, which makes Harold’s of Carbondale a small, local, minority woman-owned business. Later that evening once my food was digested a bit more, I tasted the wings with that famous sauce and they are just a delicious as everything else. This is definitely a spot that will get my repeated business. I highly recommend Harold’s of Carbondale. When you go by, tell them that Kindra Speech sent ya!

The food here is amazing, gotta get the lemon pepper added to everything! Chicken is some of the best I've ever had, the fish is great, the fries are ok but with that lemon pepper brings it to 100! You will wait as they cook everything fresh to order but there is an order online option which is what I usually do. I cannot recommend this place enough! Go there today!!!

Weekday after lunch for pickup on a 2 piece with fries and a drink.Wait was over 20 minutes while one worker was outside smoking 2 times and just before my order was finally done he walked out while giving me a strange look, saying nothing as I said "hi".Same worker stood beside the woman ringing up an order and let the phone ring until they hung up.A cook was outside once during my wait. The woman taking my order was, somewhat, friendly. No other customers before me, picking up, etc so unsure why the long wait without being busy...The food was hot when I did receive it but So greasy. The fries were Not cooked thoroughly and the chicken wasn't great with flavor.Price wasn't bad, but it was reflected in the quality.Would not recommend, would not return.
