Food is disgusting and the fee they charge for the oxtails is a rip off.they don't even give you servings worth and their fried chicken taste like someone just learning how to cook in old cooking oil....I wouldn't recommend this place for soul food. And for their appetizers shrimp and grits they didn't know if they had any. Just so disappointed ?...
Friendly. Food was burnt black. Catfish was black on the bottom. Wings were very dark brown. Cornbread muffin was black on the bottom and very dark on the top. Mash potatoes tasted strange, spoilt. Cabbage was ok. Only canned drinks. The forgot the gravy for the potatoes and forgot my drink when serving but we're very friendly.
I got some wings and fries and they were amazing ! They have jerk buffalo mild plain and other flavors I got buffalo and by far the best wings I’ve had in a long time! Come check them out in Carbondale
Mannnnn listen would highly not recommend... Chicken was bland and seemed cooked twice and when I say twice I been been sitting out and re cooked it.. because I asked for it fried hard... And not the Mac and cheese tasted like it came from Arby's ( I picked a place that Mac and cheese didn't even seem like it belong) it was horrible not to mention didn't get all I ordered and had to go meet someone for the rest of my food... Very unprofessional very very bad food not worth the money or gas? wish I cud give -3 stars
First time trying today . I had high hopes for this Soul Food Restaurant. My partner had the baked chicken it tasted very dry. I’ve tasted better greens they were DISGUSTING . I waited almost a hour for my food that is ridiculous. My wings could of been better. I will NOT be back .
First thing we saw was the Cornbread was burnt. Then the stuffing,(they only make it Saturday and Sundays) taste boxed nothing added. Oxtails we’re good, but we’re sitting in a pool of oil. My personal preference is I didn’t like the Mac and cheese or shrimp and grits. I will not be back
Horrible service and the quality of food is very poor! The food is burnt and tastes like the grease is bad. I called the establishment to inform them and the manager was very rude. Very disappointing and negative experience. I will not be returning.
Follow up review originally my meal was horrible but I called the next day and everything was fixed. The early crew were very respectful and friendly and was eager to fix the problem. Meal was much better this time around. Thanks again for fixing the meal. Hope the later crew get it together to keep consistency across the restaurant. Again thanks much much better.

Utterly disgusting! I think women do best in this kitchen. I hope the men cooking today are just filling in for the real cooks. The only thing we had that was good was the Italian ice, cabbage and collard greens. Everything else (baked chicken, fried catfish, corn bread, beef ribs and yams) was horrible. Over cooked, under seasoned and over priced for a meal that doesn’t include a drink! This generation and their manners....
