I called this Buffalo Grove location on Sunday and the RUDEST woman answered the phone. I wanted to place a catering order and she goes, what do you want? Very rudely like I was bothering her. She refused to work with me to set it up, kept saying "we can't do that" with the sizes, ignoring the catering menu! She clearly did not care for the business., just told me Oh well, and hung up on me. I called the Skokie Dengeos and placed my $275.00 catering order with them. This miserable woman should not be presented in front of customers in any way, she has no people skills or is already wealthy enough and does not care for the business.
Ordered the gyros plate and was underwhelmed. The slices of gyro meat were lukewarm and pretty greasy. The onions were sloppily cut with large chunks uncut & pieces of the root and paper, and the tzatziki sauce was nothing much more than Greek yogurt with no cucumber or any sign of herbs of any kind. And the Greek potato side was pieces of par cooked potatoes dunked in Greek seasoning and olive oil (they might have been left over baked potato). Not looking for anything extra, throw the gyro meat on the flattop to heat up the meat, take some pride in cutting up your onion into slices with out large chunks and the root, and how hard is it to make some genuine tzatziki or buy some?Maybe it was an off night, but I should have walked out when the cashier was sitting there picking the skin on his fingers without acknowledging us when we walked in.
Been here several times. Greecian chicken breast and skirt steak are excellent choices. They almost always have cream of chicken rice soup!! Love it!!
Their isn't anything that is bad here. My favorite thing is the gyro platter with Greek potatoes smothered in the grecian sauce they are cooked in. The Greek Salad with gyro meat is excellent too as well as the spinach pie and fish fry. The cheese cake baklava is excellent too and I hate cheesecake. I am working my way thru their menu.. their Grecian chicken and BBQ chicken look and smell awesome too. When I need my grecian fix I travel here. I live about a half hour away but it's always worth the trip. Consider this a must try, if you really love Greek food. The staff is friendly, the service and food are excellent and the restaurant is nice, clean and comfortable. You order at the front counter, choose a seat and wait for them to call your number. You pick it up and bring it to your table. They even have sprit zero as well as diet coke on fountain. This is the place!
Have been going for years until Covid. Went back last week to try again . Not good at all. Used to love the Chef Salad. This time is was awful. Lettuce was gross, no swiss cheese and turkey was on par with Carl Buddings packaged turkey. So salty my blood pressure peaked to almost stroke. Couldnt eat it. Will not be back. Its a shame.
Wonderful! Ordering was a breeze and the customer service agent who facilitated my experience was friendly and helpful. I was in and out in a heartbeat just as I desired and needed. And then my gyro dinner platter--oh! You've got to go there!
The place is clean and has a nice ambiance. We are looking for a place to dine in and we found ourselves here. We know this place but we never had any experience and it is our first time. Staffs are quite friendly and accommodating. They have a wide selection on their menu. We ordered a lot than expected because we are excited to try their food. Food came fast and every food we ordered has a huge portion. Food tastes good but it has nothing special to it but we would still dine in here again if ever. Prices are not bad at all.
Dengeos saved Christmas Eve!We placed a hurried last minute catering order for Christmas Eve.. When my husband went to pick up the food we learned he had placed the order with the Skokie location, not BG.Dengeos graciously filled our order at the BG location on the spot. They had every right to tell us it was not their issue and to send us to the location we ordered from, but they didn't.I drove back to monetarily express our gratitude and the manager/owner placed it back into my hands. I pushed it back and stepped away so he had to take it. Out of the corner of my eye, I'm pretty sure I saw him give it directly to some staff members.Aside from stellar food, the management and staff at Dengeos is a true class act!Thank you Dengeos!PS - the food was a hit with everyone!!
We used to like Dengeos, but the quality/taste has dropped in the last few months. Even picking up our order the food wasn't hot like we expected. But the staff is friendly.
Used to go here all the time when I was younger, the service has just gotten too poor. Today I went with my boyfriend and his mom and placed a to-go order. All 3 of us were intently listening for our number to be called. After 25 minutes, another customer was like “you guys are still waiting?!” So we went up and asked where our food was and the guy said “oh we called it and someone took it”. Which is not only a lie since 3 of us were standing in silence just listening to the numbers being called, but we saw the guy who was calling numbers just hand what looked like our bag to another customer. No number called. When brought to his attention, he followed with “it’ll be another 15-20min for us to remake the food”. No compensation. No apology. Just blaming us for not actually calling the number, and instead, blatantly giving our food away. Such a bad experience.
