Picked up a tray of Catfish filets and a full pan of cabbage on Mothers Day and it was terrific. Well run place with very good food. I DoorDash from here often and never had a bad meal.

The food is always hot & fresh, made to order, and they accommodate your expressed preferences (for example, we love hard-fried catfish and they never disappoint to get it right!) Every guest we've taken to Mandy's Soul Food Kitchen becomes a fan, so any 1st timer will be indoctrinated as well. Family atmosphere is genuine and the new & improved restaurant is very comfortable.
Simply put, we really enjoyed our meal. We ordered a few options and a sampling of sides. Yams are incredible. Chicken and waffles, incredible. Cream spinach, incredible. Tough to find a good peach cobbler in the area, this satisfies the craving.Thank you for such an enjoyable meal!
Had it for the first time at a baby shower. It was catered. Really good. Chicken, cat fish, greens, Mac/cheese, potato salad and corn bread. I'm gonna have to try it again. Very tasty?
Absolutely delicious! Great soul food and a great mixed drink. We are from Virginia and know Southern soul food and this is definitely it!!! Great atmosphere, great customer service, everything just Absolutely great! Will be back and recommend to everyone we know.
I ordered the catfish, mac and cheese, and cabbage. The catfish was definitely on point. It was fresh and well seasoned. However, the sides were the complete opposite. The cabbage had no flavor. I added salt and pepper to give it a little umph. The mac and cheese tasted as if it was from a box even though the young lady did state that everything was made from scratch. I will go again because the catfish was so good. I will just try different sides next time.
Pork chops in gravy were good. Collard Greens taste different from most I have ever had. Macaroni and cheese was good. Sweet corn bread muffin. Severs don't listen because I wanted sweet potatoes and they were in the bag. Had peach cobbler it dry no juice.
I was excited to hear about this spot. I had read reviews and they were all very favorable. However, I was not at all happy with my purchase today. I am a "Southern Food Lover" and My taste buds are very keen when it comes to flavor. Having said all of that, my taste buds were unhappy today with the flavorless items I received. First off, I got to the restaurant at opening about 11:15a. They open at 11:00a. So, I really expected my food to be fresh and piping hot. It wasn't that at all it was warm at best. I ordered the 4 side sampler with a cornbread muffin from the menu. I asked for greens, black eyed peas, yams, and Mac and cheese. First taste of greens was bland and kind of reminded me of canned "Glory" Greens and I took another bite trying to taste the flavor I am use to in soul food greens. There was no smoked meat of any kind and I prefer that in my greens. Next, Yams now I do like fresh cut yams not canned which they delivered on but I missed the taste of butter and spices for the Candied Yams taste. Next, Black eyed peas again I prefer smoked flavored meat in the cooking process to add to the flavor of the peas No meat used may be to include vegetarian food lovers or people with certain dietary restrictions but again I think they should offer it with a choice of meat or meatless. Lastly, The Mac and Cheese wasn't baked like I thought it would be and I saw that all of my sides were on the hot bar in pans out front waiting to be served. That may be why the food temperature was not as I expected. The Muffin had a good taste but it was cold and dry not served with any butter . I prefer Butter on my rolls and Corn Muffins as it is a tradition from my Southern Roots. I would like to give it a second try without these choices maybe I will have to try an Entree with Meat.
The best soul food in town!! Clean and friendly atmosphere so many people came in to dine in and take out. Old School Music ? and a open Bar ? we dined in we had smothered chicken greens, cabbage, black-eyed peas, baked chicken and smothered pork chops and red kool-aid
