Review Date: June 11th, 2018That Burger Joint is… disjointed?Recently, Oberweis Dairy (an ice cream store, a la Cold Stone Creamery) has expanded to offer a restaurant attached to their store. While driving through Bloomington, the gimmicky name instantly caught my eye.You would think if you visit a restaurant with burger in it’s name, you would order a burger. But I didn’t. I ordered ‘That Spicy Chicken’. My friend ordered ‘That Burger’. We sat down and were anxious to dig in to the food. The sandwiches were massive and heavy. Almost too big to eat. But where it was big in size, it lacked in flavor. I got jalapenos on my chicken and it definitely added a kick, but the chicken itself tasted… off. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t give me anything to write home about. Just this blog post.I tried my friend’s burger and she tried my sandwich. Her burger was full of flavor due to the toppings and grease, but the actual meat had no more flavor than a $4 pound of unseasoned beef that you’d get at the local grocer. She agreed that the food was mediocre overall. The lay out of the inside reminds me of a hybrid between Steak N Shake and Five Guys Burger & Fries. You walk up to the counter, place your order and you either take it to go or they can bring it out to your table. It’s that cross between fast food and restaurant. The decor was sparse and lacking. There is an attempt to give it a rustic look, but the large swathes of black leave much to be desired. The customer service was good while ordering, but once we were sitting down, the staff was complaining among themselves about how short staffed they were.I hate to score That Burger Joint so low, but I can’t in good conscious give it a glowing review. It’s best to avoid it, even if you are there getting ice cream. There are way better places in Bloomington/Normal to get food.

I thought that the food would have tasted great had they made my hamburger the way I order it. Food allergies are real, so when I said I didn't want onions on my hamburger I didn't expect to taste then in my mouth when chewing my food. Nothing like having to spit chewed food in public because of cross contamination or disregard to how I order my meal.

Incredible. Not only was this the best burger I’ve had in the state, but I had to come back the next day.The burger was perfect, fries were plentiful, and the staff was very accommodating - when I asked if there were tables with outlets to charge my phone- they went out of the way to help me find one. Thank you !

Visiting a daughter at college and was hungry for a good burger this place was absolutely amazing one of the best burgers I have ever had !!! And the service was just as amazing !!

The burger was delicious! The pickles were perfect. The cheese fries are some of the best I've had. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

I ordered the "That Cheeseburger" and got a double b/c I happened to be particularly hungry. It was totally worth it even though this was my first visit to this restaurant and wasn't sure what to expect for the quality of the food. 10/10 would recommend.

Man where do I begin!!! The double impossible burger with mushrooms and cheese was on point. This is my first time eating and was very impressed with my food selection. I got one of their Strawberry Shakes and it was like going to a Culver's or Dairy Queen for a shake. I definitely will be coming back again!!!

The food is really good, but the past 3 times we have been there our order has been messed up, missing toppings, toppings added that weren’t wanted, cold mushy fries. They have fixed the order each time it has been brought to their attention, but for the price of the meal we shouldn’t have to pick it up to go back in to have it fixed on a regular basis. Check your food right away!

Great burger, Chicago dogs and fries, have a kids menu and unlimited chocolate milk from oberweiss that is the best for the kids. Ice cream shop attached for desert.

Extremely underwhelming experience here. First, the cost. For a burger, fries, and milk shake I paid around $17. That would be fine, however...1. The burger was very mediocre. The patty was thin and did not taste as quality as it is hyped up to be. It was also lacking in cheese.2. The fries were so bad. They were relatively cold, limp, and overcooked to being brown. I think they're supposed to be more "homestyle", but the execution here was not good at all. Every other restaurant I've ever ordered fries at had better fries than these.3. The milkshake was good, but that was about it.To sum things up: the food here (minus oberweis) is extremely mediocre and incredibly overpriced. I will not eat here again.
