This is more a review of what we DIDN'T get. We placed an online carry-out order during open hours and arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes later. We arrived to find the parking lot empty, the doors locked, and the drive-thru blocked. We have tried calling the store and have yet to reach anyone. We have emailed and messaged Steak N Shake corporate, and have heard nothing back either. We paid for two dinners, and got NOTHING.
This place used to be pretty bad admittedly, but I love their garlic steak burgers and chili so I decided to try again. They have vastly improved! Every time I’ve gone recently, the food has looked perfect (no smooshed buns and sloppy chili spills) and the drive thru line has moved at a much better pace. The workers on the speaker and at the window are so kind!! Other than the store randomly being closed once when I tried to go, blocking the order speaker with a wheelbarrow or something similar, it’s been a very reliable place to spend money and grab some dinner!
I ordered food from this location online. When we went to pick it up the restaurant was closed but we were still charged anyway. What a waste of time. I’m never going to this location again.
I placed an order to pick up on their app. Paid for it and went to pick it up. When I got there at 9pm, the doors were locked and the lights were on. Looking through the front window, you could see a chain of tickets hanging out of the printer and the line was completely closed down and cleaned. Can’t get a refund through the app, so I called the store. Craig the manager says he can’t give me a refund through the store and I’d have to figure it out through how ever I placed the order. Eventually I was told I could come in and get the food I ordered. Sure that sounds great, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll be trusting the service at this location ever again. Definitely won’t be using any apps to place an order here ever again.
They're consistent with my order and have delicious burgers and fries that aren't expensive. The only issue with this location is that I never know when it's open. The hours posted are never correct and they're closed at the oddest times. Wish there was signage letting me know when I can stop by.
Definitely not open 24 hours, if you’re wanting Steak N Shake late go to Veterans and Vernon in Normal, IL. At least they’re open until 12:00AM
Need off road car for parking lot. Maybe it would make it look cleaner idk so many cracks dips holes it's like a war zone out there man.
Probably shouldn't put chicken strips in styrofoam cups! My chicken strips had styrofoam melted all over them! I I ate several before I realized this. Now I have to find out if styrofoam is harmful to eat.
Always short staffed and if you go there for lunch expect to wait at least a half hour if not more for your food and even then it’ll just be sloppy and thrown together…oh miss Steak ‘n Shake back in the day fast,fun and delicious….no idea how they plan on reopening the dinning room if they can’t even handle a drive thru
Do u people think u can get covid through a speaker. Can't even go through drive-thru. Stupid. Done with this place.
