It's Bob Evans and it's eggs... 1948 - 2022, 74 years.. I realize in the parlance of our times the labor force is challenging and staffing a restaurant in central Illinois is no easy task. With all of that prequalified I am absolutely dumbfounded on how someone can produce a homestead breakfast with the lack of quality that is coming out of their kitchen.. Well I was dumbfounded until when asked at the register "how was everything?" I simply stated "unimpressed." The young lad on his own accord decided to get his manager and when she came out it all was acutely apparent. Simply put, the speed of the leader is the pace of the pack. This restaurant is failing and it's being driven straight into the ground. Save your money, your time and your health and choose another option.
The waiter was very good. Not intrusive but still attentive. Great qualities for his position. Also very engaging and helpful. My first visit there but will definitely come back because the food and service were exceptional!
My daughter and ordered fudge hot cakes and the biscuits and sausage gravy. Understaffed, but the servers made the best of what they had. As for the manager, she told them they needed to manage priorities, but it appears she needs to manage herself better. 5 jun-2022 @ 5pm.
We come here every now and then! It’s always good, just please be patient and understanding as restaurants are still struggling to fulfill staff. They only had one cook and one server at the time. They were working the best they could with the staff that they had! I was able to try their new citrus punch and their avocado southwest omelet and it was yummy!
I ordered breakfast for lunch and it was fresh and delicious. I had the eggs with chicken, don't knock it till you try it the chicken is amazing and the eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly. It seemed like the restaurant was for a more mature customer but don't let that scare you ,give it a try!!
Pretty awful food. I ordered the baked potato soup...potatoes were not cooked. My partner had a big breakfast including biscuits and gravy to which he said no flavor. Stars are for pleasant gals that waited on us. When I said the soup was not cooked...did get a sorry. But that's it.
Food was good. Took over an hour to get my food. Two couples that arrived after me got their food and were leaving before I got mine. Server was nice and kept my coffee filled. Overall a good experience despite the wait for my food
I came here for dinner the first night in town. Service was a little on the slower side as they were way understaffed for dinner time. My server was great and quick to replenish my drink. I had the honey chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and loaded hash browns. The chicken was decent. Pretty buttery and honey flavored, like I thought it should be. The beef gravy was salty and didn't add much to the mashed potatoes. The loaded hash browns were a bit of a joke given that loading them up costs extra. I would come here again but would definitely get something different.
Burned 2 sets of PANCAKES! WHO DOES THAT? They were so hard they crumbled. If you can't cook pancakes stay away from them.
The hardest PANCAKES in my life. They wouldn't even cut. Just horrible. And I love my pancakes. Leaving here just to get some.
