Great service, cozy setting, & delicious food! Was very impressed after my first visit! The space is small so I recommend making a reservation if you plan on going during busy hours. Our waiter recommended the Mac n Cheese with brisket and we were not disappointed! Just amazing! We also ordered the shrimp po'boy and a pulled pork sandwich which were yummy. There is a bar, however I didn't get a chance to try any drinks this visit. This was a great first stop before we headed nextdoor to Fitzgerald's.
Wish I could give it a better review. Maybe the restaurant is better onsite than takeaway? I'm still missing a $14 brisket from an order 3 days ago and I've called to request a refund. 4 days later and I'm waiting for a call back because the manager needs to 'investigate the system'. I don't know, but it's too much work to chase after a missing order. Sorry, pass.
This place is a real gem. Great vibe and atmosphere. Really friendly and attentive staff all around. And the food is excellent. First time there I had the brisket sandwich. Given the seeming dearth of genuine barbecue in Chicago, I am far from knowledgeable. But this was REAL barbecue. Not the stuff that other places in Chicago try to pass off as bbq. Get some roast beef and slather on barbecue sauce. This beef had definitely seen the inside of a smoker. The cottage fries that went with it were absolute perfection. Fried potatoes I know about. All in all, I would certainly go back, if only I was closer. Hopefully an event next door at Fitzgerald's will provide the necessary excuse.
Been to the restaurant twice and went to their pop up in the city. Burger is absolutely phenomenal and each cut of smoked meat was either my favorite or second favorite in Chicagoland and can't say enough great things about this place. Only thing I wouldn't recommend was the cornbread, but that's a small sacrifice for some fantastic BBQ and atmosphere!!!
Terrible experience. We went for brunch. The food was not good and portions were very small. The biscuits were hard and dense like hockey pucks. It was freezing outside and no heat in the restaurant. We were seated at a table practically in the kitchen door and constantly had servers in our face, literall I had such high Hope's and was so looking forward to this but there was not one redeeming aspect to our visit. Unfortunately. I had no intention of writing a bad review because I had indicated my dissapointment on my emailed receipt but theydid not even acknowledge it. I usually always give a restaurant more than one visit because everyone has a bad day but this one visit was more than enough for me. It might be pleasant in warm weather listening to music as long as you only expect mediocre food.
Great atmosphere, decent food. Classy but down to earth (they have pork belly po boys but also ruffles chips as a side). We ate here before seeing a band perform next door so it was very convenient. The wait staff was really stretched thin so allow time to track down your server.
Brunch on Saturdsay with amazing live jazz, good food, excellent drinks. The bloody mary came with delicious pickled variety of veggies. Their Babygold lager is worth a shot too. For vegetarians, the veggie burger and cinnamon bun/French toast bites were solid.
Incredible food, and the best servers/staff. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable bartenders who can guide you through options and pairings without being stuffy or pretentious. The dining room is NEXT LEVEL in how cozy and gorgeous it is, and when it’s warm, the patio is like our second home. I also went there on my birthday and was treated to some special, surprise extras that really put the cherry on top of an already great experience. This place is needed in Berwyn soooo badly — we must protect Babygold! If you eat here even once you’ll know how lucky we are.
BabyGold is a BBQ restaurant situated in Fitzgerald's night club in Berwyn, IL. The food comes in good portions at a decent price, and there are several selections available. If you are planning a night at Fitzgerald's, make sure you give this chow a go. You'll enjoy it. Good prompt service too.
Such a cool room! The tables are big to accommodate large parties. The menu is short and sweet - always good to eat at a bbq joint that knows what they do well. You could make a meal out of the appetizers and the sides. Recommend the po boy, smashed potatoes, and the dips.
